For an 8-10-seat rectangular (84-108" long), Large single or paired Mediums staggered. For oversized tables (10+ seats, 120"+ long), XL single or two Larges staggered. When uncertain, slightly larger reads more intentional than slightly smaller.

Above a dining table: 30-36 inches from tabletop to bulb (not to shade bottom). Above a kitchen island: 32-38 inches from countertop to bulb. Above a nightstand height (bedside): 24-30 inches above mattress top. In a foyer: 7-8 ft floor clearance minimum. Yes — recommended for dining and living-room evening use. The included E26 LED bulbs are non-dimmable warm-white. To enable dimming: replace with dimmable E26 LEDs (widely available, $8-15 each) and install a compatible triac wall dimmer. At 30-50% brightness, the silk shade produces its most atmospheric register — the drum becomes a soft warm cylinder rather than a task-brightness source. For dining rooms particularly, dimming is what unlocks the fixture's evening character.

Even light distribution across the silk shade. Small (15.7") and Medium (19.6") diameters can be evenly illuminated by a single centred bulb — the silk diffuses the light uniformly to the shade edges. Large (23.6") and XL (26.7") diameters are wider than a single bulb can evenly illuminate without producing a bright centre and dimmer edges; three bulbs positioned across the shade interior produce the even wide-diameter glow the fixture is designed for. Total light output at 3 bulbs is proportionally correct for the larger room these sizes belong in.

Gently. Dust with a soft dry brush (a clean makeup brush works well) or low-power vacuum brush attachment held at 6-inch distance, every 3-4 months. Never use water, damp cloths, or cleaning sprays on silk — moisture damages the material and can distort the frame shape. Keep the fixture out of heavy-humidity or cooking-vapor environments. Kept in dry conditions, premium silk lasts as long as any lighting material.
