The Akari 2N is a minimalist purist's table lamp — a clean natural-white Washi paper egg supported by a substantial solid iron tripod. Where most paper table lamps use light hollow bases, the 2N's solid iron base gives the fixture quiet physical weight (3kg / 6.6 lbs) — a piece you can feel as well as see. How do I care for the natural white Washi shade? +

Do not wet-clean, steam, spray with cleaners, or use damp cloths; water permanently stains and warps Washi paper — staining is especially visible on natural white. With basic monthly dusting, the paper maintains its appearance for years; slight ambering over time is natural and part of the material's character.
