The Akari 2N is a minimalist purist's table lamp — a clean natural-white Washi paper egg supported by a substantial solid iron tripod. Where most paper table lamps use light hollow bases, the 2N's solid iron base gives the fixture quiet physical weight (3kg / 6.6 lbs) — a piece you can feel as well as see. The natural white paper finish is more restrained than tinted variants; combined with the dense iron foundation, the result is a fixture stripped to essentials, suited for spaces that value visual restraint over warmth.

Edison filament bulbs (2200K-2700K) work beautifully as well — the warmer color and visible filament read as cozy craft against the natural white paper. The 2N accepts E26 bulbs up to 60W. Avoid cooler bulbs (4000K+) — they shift the lamp's glow toward stark white, defeating the contemplative warm quality the lamp is designed for. How do I care for the natural white Washi shade? +
Dust gently with a soft feather duster or microfiber cloth — that's it. The natural white finish shows dust more readily than warmer-tinted papers, so monthly dusting helps it stay clean-looking. Do not wet-clean, steam, spray with cleaners, or use damp cloths; water permanently stains and warps Washi paper — staining is especially visible on natural white. Place away from humid environments (bathroom counters, kitchen surfaces near stovetops) and away from direct heat sources. With basic monthly dusting, the paper maintains its appearance for years; slight ambering over time is natural and part of the material's character. The solid iron base only needs occasional wiping with a dry cloth.
