— WYNNE / PORTABLE LANTERN —
A lantern that goes
wherever you do.

For most of the history of residential lighting, a lamp was wherever an outlet was. You arranged your furniture around the wall sockets, ran extension cords behind sofas when you wanted light somewhere awkward, and resigned yourself to corded life. Portable rechargeable lighting changes the geometry — the lamp goes where the moment is, not where the socket is.
The Wynne is built for that flexibility. A USB-C rechargeable battery holds enough charge for 4-8 hours of soft glow depending on brightness, switched on and dimmed with a touch on the top of the glass. The wood handle — Walnut or Ash, both real hardwood — lets you pick it up and carry it wherever it needs to be: the dining table for dinner, the patio for evening conversation, the bedside for late reading, back to the charging dock when the battery runs low.
Bulbs included. Built to UL safety standards. Choose your size (7", 9.8", or 11.8"), wood color (Walnut for warmer interiors, Ash for lighter Scandinavian palettes), and plug type for charging (US, UK, EU, AU). Three sizes for different room scales and applications — small for bedsides, medium for dining tables, large for living-room statement.

What makes the Wynne
01
Cordless · USB-C rechargeable
The Wynne charges via USB-C cable — the same connector your phone and laptop probably use, so no proprietary charger to misplace. A full charge takes 4-6 hours and delivers 4-8 hours of glow depending on brightness setting. Charge it overnight on the kitchen counter, then carry it for the day wherever the room needs warmth.
02
Real wood handle — Walnut or Ash
The handle is solid hardwood, not wood-look veneer or stained metal. Walnut reads warmer and darker — pairs with walnut floors, leather furniture, and Mid-Century palettes. Ash reads paler and Scandinavian — pairs with white-painted floors, light textiles, and Japandi-leaning interiors. Both develop a subtle patina from regular handling over the years.
03
Touch dimming · brightness on the glass top
Tap the top of the glass to turn on; hold to dim through the full brightness range; tap again to turn off. No switch, no chain, no remote — the entire control surface is the lantern itself. The touch sensor sits under the glass top, so the action is visible (you watch the light respond to your finger) but the hardware stays invisible.
04
Glass lantern shade · 360° glow
The cylindrical glass shade transmits soft warm light in all directions — different from spotlight-style lamps that throw light in only one direction. The 360° diffusion makes the Wynne particularly good as a dining table centerpiece (light reaches everyone seated) and as a bedside lamp (no harsh point source pointed at your eyes).
05
Indoor & outdoor capable · 3 sizes
Designed for indoor use, but rated IP44 for occasional outdoor use — patios, garden tables, covered porches. Not for direct rain exposure, but safe for the kind of patio dinners that occasionally see a drizzle. Three sizes: 7" small for bedsides, 9.8" medium for dining tables (most popular), 11.8" large for statement placement.
— On portable lighting —
"The lamp goes where the dinner is — not the other way around."
For most of residential history, the placement of lighting was a fixed decision — where the outlets were, the lamps had to be. Now, with rechargeable battery technology mature enough to power a real lamp for 8 hours of soft light, the placement is no longer fixed. The lamp moves with you.
In American interiors that increasingly blur the indoor-outdoor line — Sunday brunches on the patio, late dinners under the pergola, reading on the porch — a portable lantern earns its keep. Charge it on Tuesday, carry it Friday through Sunday. The Wynne is built for that rhythm — the kind of lamp that gets used most of its hours per week not in one spot, but in three or four.
— Choosing your size —
Three sizes, three uses
7"
SMALL · 12" TALL
For bedsides, kids' rooms, reading nooks, and tight surfaces. Compact enough to be primarily a personal lamp; light enough to carry from the bedroom to the bathroom for a midnight glass of water.
9.8"
MEDIUM · 16" TALL · MOST POPULAR
The Wynne's sweet spot. Tall enough to anchor a dining table or coffee table, compact enough to carry comfortably from inside to the patio. The most-ordered size — works as both a primary table lamp and a portable accent piece.
11.8"
LARGE · 20" TALL · STATEMENT
For larger console tables, dining tables seating 6+, and rooms where the Wynne should be a focal point. At 20 inches total, the large Wynne reads architectural — particularly striking on a long sideboard or as the centerpiece on a large outdoor patio dining setup.
— Where it lives —
Recommended spaces
Dining table · 9.8" Walnut
A single 9.8" Wynne in the center of a dinner table. The Walnut handle reads warm against most table linens; the touch dimming lets you set the brightness to "intimate dinner" without standing up to find a switch. The cordless freedom means the lamp can move to wherever the dinner happens — kitchen table on Wednesday, patio on Saturday.
Bedside · 7" Walnut or Ash
The small Wynne is the canonical bedside size — replaces a corded lamp, no fumbling for a wall switch in the dark. Touch dimming lets you settle to a soft glow for late reading, then a single tap to dark when ready to sleep.
Outdoor patio · 9.8" or 11.8" · either wood
The Wynne's defining application. Carry the lantern outside for evening dinners, garden conversations, or simply sitting on the porch as the sun sets. IP44 rating means light drizzle is fine; not for sustained rain or pool-deck splash zones. Bring it back inside at the end of the night to charge.
Restaurant or hospitality · 9.8" matched batch
Restaurants increasingly use cordless table lamps in place of candles — better atmosphere, no fire risk, no wax. The Wynne fits this category cleanly. For multi-fixture restaurant orders (10+), email us for matched-batch wood handles and bulk pricing.
Reading corner or accent · 9.8" or 11.8" Ash
In a Scandinavian or Japandi-leaning reading corner, the pale Ash wood handle reads quietly against pale upholstery. The 360° glow contributes ambient light without becoming the visual focal point — the reader, not the lamp, is the center of attention.

Questions
How long does the battery actually last? +
4-8 hours per full charge, depending on brightness setting. Run the Wynne at full brightness for a dinner party — about 4 hours. Run it at a low intimate glow for evening reading — closer to 8 hours.
For typical residential use (couple hours of evening light + bedside glow), a single charge lasts about 2 nights. Charge it overnight on a kitchen counter or USB-C dock, and it's ready for the next day. The Wynne can also be used while charging — plug in if you've forgotten to charge ahead of time.
Can I really use this outside? What about rain? +
IP44 rating — covered outdoor use is fine, direct rain is not.
Safe outdoor use: Patios under a pergola or umbrella, covered porches, garden tables on dry evenings, screened patios. Light drizzle blown sideways onto the lantern is generally fine for short periods.
Not safe: Pool-deck splash zones, direct rain exposure for extended periods, snowy or icy conditions, submersion in puddles or wet grass.
Bring the Wynne back indoors at the end of the night — both for charging and to keep the wood handle from absorbing humidity over many hours outdoors.
Which color should I order — Walnut or Ash? +
Walnut — choose for warmer interior palettes. Pairs with walnut floors, leather furniture, Mid-Century-leaning rooms, dark dining tables, and Cottagecore/Earthy interiors. The Walnut handle reads as a deliberate warm accent.
Ash Wood — choose for lighter, Scandinavian-leaning interiors. Pairs with white-painted floors, oak or beech furniture, Japandi-style rooms, and Modern Minimalist palettes. The Ash handle nearly disappears against pale surroundings, letting the glass lantern be the focal point.
Can't decide? Most customers order Walnut — it's slightly more versatile across interior styles and reads more "intentional" against white tablecloths or pale linens.
Are bulbs included? Can I replace them? +
Yes — E26 LED warm-white bulbs are included (standard 2700K). The bulb is replaceable from the bottom — unscrew the base plate to access the socket. Standard E26 LED bulbs from Home Depot, Lowe's, or Amazon will fit.
For dimming: The touch sensor handles brightness control automatically — you don't need a dimmable bulb. The included bulb works with the built-in dimmer. If you replace the bulb later, choose any standard E26 LED in the 5-9 watt range for best battery life.
What size should I order for my dining table? +
For most American dining tables, the 9.8" Wynne is the right answer. At 16 inches tall, it sits above the level of dinner plates without blocking sightlines across the table.
By table size:
· 2-4 person table (under 5') → 7" small (or 9.8" if you want statement)
· 4-6 person table (5'-7') → 9.8" medium (recommended default)
· 6-8+ person table (over 7') → 11.8" large, or two 9.8" mediums spaced along the table
For round tables, choose by diameter — 36"+ tables work with 9.8", 48"+ tables can take 11.8".
— A note from us —
Each Wynne handle is real hardwood — Walnut or Ash — with subtle grain variation between pieces. Two Wynnes ordered together will share the same overall wood tone but may differ slightly in grain pattern; this is the inherent quality of real wood handcraft.
For restaurant, hospitality, or bulk orders (10+ units), email service@stuberlighting.com — we coordinate matched-batch wood handles and offer bulk pricing for commercial installations.
Safety tested for indoor and covered-outdoor use. Built to meet UL, ETL, CE, and SAA electrical safety standards for residential lighting installations.
