Authentic mulberry washi paper, hand-textured over a bamboo frame and set on three slim matte-black legs. Lit, the paper turns a bare bulb into a soft, diffuse amber glow — closer to candlelight than to a screen. A 3000K warm-white bulb is included, so it's ready to switch on.

The Material

Real washi — not printed, not plastic.

Authentic mulberry-fiber paper, hand-textured over the frame. It has the irregular fibers and warmth machine-made or vinyl shades can't fake, and diffuses light far more softly than glass. Each piece is handmade, so slight variations are part of the character — and the paper ambers gently over the years, which is normal.

Questions

Does it come with a bulb?+

Yes — a 3000K warm-white bulb is included, so it's ready to switch on. For the warmest paper glow, stick to 2700–3000K bulbs; cooler bulbs (4000K+) flatten the amber tone toward gray.

How do I clean the paper?+

Dust gently with a soft duster or dry microfiber cloth — that's it. Never wet-clean, steam, or spray; water permanently stains washi. Keep it away from humidity (bathrooms, stovetop steam) and direct heat. Replacement shades can be ordered if ever needed.

Is the paper fragile? Will it last?+

More durable than it looks — long mulberry fibers make it stronger than regular paper. With normal placement and dusting it lasts for years. It's not built for constant bumping from kids or pets, so keep it on a stable surface. The bamboo frame and base are reusable if a shade is ever replaced.

Can I dim it?+

The lamp uses an inline cord on/off switch (not a dimmer on its own). For dimming, pair it with a compatible dimmable E26 bulb plus an in-line cord dimmer or smart bulb, sold separately.
