MURANO GLASS · N°10 · FLOWER CLUSTER

A garden of glass,
from Verona.

A cluster of hand-blown Murano glass flowers, arranged in a radiant formation around a central glass orb. Five colour choices — yellow, green, blue, red, or a multi-tone colourful mix — in two sizes for medium and grand dining rooms, statement living rooms, and hospitality installations. Bulbs included.

I · The lineage

A tradition, still practiced.

Murano glassmaking is one of the oldest continuously practiced crafts in Europe. The technique of shaping molten glass into flower forms using hand tools — pincers, tongs, marvers — has existed on the island of Murano since at least the fifteenth century. What appears in the ceiling of a dining room today as an ornate glass chandelier is the same process a fifteenth-century master would have recognized: a rod, a furnace, a piece of glass, and hands.

The Verona takes that tradition and applies it at chandelier scale — a cluster of hand-blown glass flowers arranged in a radial formation around a central spherical orb. Each flower is shaped individually while the glass is still molten from the furnace; each takes approximately fifteen to twenty minutes to complete in the atelier. Twenty-four flowers per fixture, all hand-blown, all attached one at a time to the metal skeleton. This is not a fixture that scales quickly. It's a fixture that scales carefully.

II · The tones

Four solids, one mix.

Yellow — golden

Modern warm · Italian villa

Saturated golden-yellow — the tone of Tuscan afternoon light. Belongs in warm-modern interiors with walnut and cream, in Italian villa-style rooms, in hospitality dining installations where the fixture is expected to hold attention.

Green — olive

Botanical · Traditional

Deep olive green — the tone of Mediterranean groves. Belongs in traditional-modern rooms with warm-wood cabinetry, in classic dining rooms, in interiors that want a botanical anchor without going floral.

Blue — ocean

Coastal modern · Editorial

Deep translucent ocean blue — architectural rather than pale coastal. Belongs in editorial-modern interiors, in coastal-modern homes wanting to avoid beach-house clichés, in cool-toned dining rooms with white or grey palettes.

Red — ruby

French vintage · Bold

Deep ruby-wine red — warm and slightly amber. Belongs in French-vintage dining rooms with walnut and velvet, in bold-traditional interiors, in French-bistro hospitality installations that want warm colour temperature at scale.

Colourful — the multi-tone mix

Our signature configuration · The unmistakable choice

The Colourful variant is the Verona at its most Muranese — yellow, green, blue, and red flowers combined into a single fixture, arranged deliberately around the central orb so no two adjacent flowers share a tone. Reads as the classic Italian garden-glass tradition: not decoration in a specific colour palette, but a celebration of what hand-blown glass can be. Belongs in interiors that want the chandelier to be a piece of art rather than a matching accessory — modernist rooms with neutral palettes that want a colour event, hospitality projects wanting Instagram identity, homes that don't need permission to be joyful.

III · The form

Radial cluster with a central orb.

The composition is intentional. Twenty-four hand-blown flower shades are arranged in three vertical tiers around a central metal skeleton — eight flowers to each tier, spaced at forty-five degree intervals. At the centre of the composition, at the visual heart of the fixture, sits a single hand-blown glass orb the size of a small melon. The orb is what pulls the eye — a solid volume in the middle of the delicate outward-facing flowers.

This is a form Murano ateliers have been building for centuries — a garden of glass around a central sphere — and it remains one of the strongest compositions in the Murano tradition. It gives the fixture visual weight without visual heaviness, colour without competing with the room's palette, and craft without ornament for its own sake.

IV · The scale

Two sizes, both statement-scale.

Both Verona sizes share the same 18.1-inch height. What changes is the diameter — 19.7 inches for the Small, 23.6 inches for the Large. Both are designed to work as the central architectural moment in a dining room, foyer, or statement living room.

Small 19.7"⌀ × 18.1"H 6-8 seat dining · standard foyer · statement living
Large 23.6"⌀ × 18.1"H 8-10 seat dining · grand foyer · double-height living · hospitality

Standard 19-inch adjustable chain. Custom lengths available at no extra charge for double-height foyers or vaulted rooms — write to support@stuberlighting.com with your ceiling-to-floor measurement and desired hanging height before ordering.

V · The craft

Considered, throughout.

Bulbs included.

The Verona ships with its full set of E14 warm-white LED bulbs at 3000K — the temperature that best reveals the coloured glass in its intended tone. 3000K is warmer than daylight LED, cooler than incandescent yellow; it's the residential-atmospheric standard for chandeliers where the fixture is meant to hold attention through the evening. Dimmable-compatible with dimmable E14 LEDs and a triac wall dimmer.

Heavy fixture. Reinforced box required.

The Verona is a substantial hand-blown fixture — twenty-four glass flowers plus a solid central orb add weight. Before installation, confirm your ceiling has a heavy-duty rated junction box or a ceiling brace. Standard drywall-only mounting is not adequate. A licensed electrician can verify or upgrade the box during installation; we recommend confirming this in advance rather than at installation day.

Assembly at installation.

The Verona ships with the metal skeleton pre-assembled and the twenty-four flower shades packed separately. Flowers attach onto the skeleton at installation — allow approximately thirty to sixty minutes for a licensed electrician to complete both the wiring and the flower assembly. Placement of flowers is intuitive; each attaches to a numbered socket on the skeleton.

Individual variation.

Each flower is hand-blown, one at a time — subtle variations in curve, colour intensity, and interior bubble pattern remain by design. Your Verona will be subtly different from photographs and from every other Verona produced. This is hand-blown work's signature; machine-pressed uniformity would signal a different production method entirely.

VI · Where it belongs

Rooms that want a garden overhead.

A Modern Italian dining room — Colourful or Yellow, Small over a 6-8 seat table, Large over a 10-seat table. The Verona is what the Italian tradition specifies for dining rooms: colour, warmth, hand-blown craft at scale. Particularly effective in rooms with walnut, cream, and brass palettes.

A grand foyer or entryway — Large in Colourful, hung from an extended chain to fill the vertical space of a double-height foyer. The multi-tone glass is the first impression guests receive when they enter the home — a declaration that this is a house that chose its lighting deliberately.

A statement living room — the Verona works alongside modern furniture as an anchor of colour and craft; it works alongside traditional walnut and velvet as a piece of the same conversation. Green reads botanical-classic; Yellow reads warmly modern; Blue reads editorial-cool; Red reads bistro-warm.

A hospitality installation — restaurants (Italian concepts particularly), hotel dining rooms, private dining rooms of any cuisine, boutique-hotel lobbies. The Verona is designed for commercial scale — substantial enough to hold a large room, distinctive enough to become the venue's identity. Colourful is the most-specified variant for hospitality; Yellow is close behind. For multi-fixture installations across a hotel or restaurant chain, matched-batch coordination is available.

VIII · Questions

Solid colour or Colourful — how do I choose?

Choose Colourful if you want the fixture to be the room's art. Reads as the classic Italian multi-tone Murano tradition; belongs in interiors that want the chandelier to declare presence rather than blend in. The most-specified variant for hospitality, and for homes that don't need permission to be joyful. Choose a solid colour if you want the fixture to be atmospheric rather than declarative — Yellow for warm-modern interiors, Green for traditional-classic rooms, Blue for coastal-modern or editorial palettes, Red for French-vintage warmth. Solid variants give you all the craft and form of the Verona without asking your room to accept four colours simultaneously. Both approaches are legitimate; the question is what you want the room to feel like after the chandelier is installed.

Which size for my dining table?

By dining table: 6-seater → Small (19.7") · 8-seater → Small or Large depending on table width · 10-seater → Large (23.6") · 12+ seater → Large with adjustment. Rule of thumb: the chandelier diameter should be roughly half to two-thirds the width of the dining table below it. Hang the lowest flower 30-36 inches above the table surface. For grand foyers and living rooms without a dining table beneath, the Large 23.6" reads correctly to statement-scale.

Is my ceiling ready for this fixture?

Weight consideration is important. The Verona is a substantial hand-blown fixture — twenty-four flower shades plus a solid central orb make it heavier than the average glass chandelier. Before ordering, confirm your ceiling has a heavy-duty rated junction box or a proper ceiling brace behind the drywall. Standard residential 4-inch round boxes rated for 50-lb fixtures are adequate; boxes rated only for lightweight fixtures (10-15 lb) are not. If unsure, a licensed electrician can inspect and upgrade the box before installation day — we recommend confirming this in advance rather than discovering a mounting issue mid-installation. For homes built after 1990 with modern electrical code, most kitchen and dining junction boxes are already rated adequately; older homes may need an upgrade.

Is the glass genuinely Murano?

The Verona is produced using Murano-tradition technique — hand-blown, batch-coloured glass, one flower and one orb at a time, following the Venetian glassmaking tradition. We are transparent about the distinction in fine residential lighting between certified-Murano (from designated Italian houses, priced at $8,000+ per fixture) and Murano-technique pieces (produced in equally qualified glassblowing studios). The Verona is the latter — true hand-blown art glass in the Italian tradition, faithful to the flower-cluster aesthetic that Murano ateliers have specialized in for centuries, accessibly priced. If certification is critical for your commercial or institutional application, we recommend purchasing from a certified Murano house directly.

Can I dim it? How does it look at 50%?

Yes — strongly recommended. The included E14 3000K LED bulbs are non-dimmable warm-white. To enable dimming: replace with dimmable E14 LEDs (widely available, $8-15 each) and wire through a compatible triac wall dimmer. At 40-60% brightness, the coloured glass reveals its full atmospheric character — the yellow reads as golden warmth, the red as ruby-wine, the colourful as a slow gradient of tones washing the ceiling. For dining rooms with evening use, dimming is not optional — it's what transforms the Verona from ordinary illumination to atmospheric fixture.

Hospitality-scale orders?

Yes — the Verona is designed for commercial-scale specification. Italian restaurants specifically, hotel dining rooms, private dining rooms of any cuisine, boutique-hotel lobbies, and hospitality projects wanting a signature statement fixture — the Verona is designed for exactly this specification. Coordinated matched-batch glass, extended lead times for larger orders, custom colour specification (beyond the standard five), and interior-designer trade pricing are all available. The Colourful variant is the most-specified for hospitality projects. Write to service@stuberlighting.com with your project brief — installation count, timeline, and any custom specification.

"The multi-tone Murano tradition — yellow, green, blue, and red combined in a single fixture — is one of the oldest compositions in Italian glassmaking. It is not a modern novelty. It is what Italian ceilings have looked like for five hundred years. The Verona is our reconstruction of that tradition at contemporary scale, at accessible price, faithful to what the form has always been."
