There's a specific frustration in modern lighting: you've installed a flush mount fixture because the ceiling is too low for a pendant, and now you can't change the brightness or color from across the room. You're stuck walking to the wall switch every time the lighting needs to shift between evening movie mode and Saturday morning kitchen mode.
The Soren solves this with a small piece of engineering most flush mounts skip: a remote control. Point the remote at the fixture from any angle in the room, switch between three color temperatures (warm 3000K, neutral 4000K, cool 6000K), and adjust brightness without leaving the couch. For homes that want triac dimming compatibility instead — to use existing wall dimmer switches — Soren ships in that configuration too. Three Models: Remote (smart control), Triac (wall dimmer), or Fixed (standard 3000K).

Includes a handheld remote that switches between three color temperatures and controls brightness — without walking to the wall. Switch from warm 3000K bedtime to neutral 4000K morning to cool 6000K task lighting at the push of a button. The smart choice for living rooms, bedrooms, and any room where the lighting needs to adapt to the time of day.

If you already have a wall dimmer or prefer wall-switch control, choose Triac Dimming. Fixed 3000K warm light, smooth brightness adjustment from 0-100% via compatible triac wall dimmer (sold separately, $15-30 at Home Depot/Lowe's). The classic choice for hardwired smart home installations.

If you don't need dimming, the Fixed 3000K version is the simplest and most affordable. Pure on/off with your existing wall switch. Warm 3000K only — no color temperature switching. The budget-conscious choice for hallways, basements, and utility spaces.

Modern residential lighting research consistently shows that the right color temperature for a room shifts throughout the day. Cool 6000K daylight at 9am helps with morning focus and task completion. Neutral 4000K at noon matches daylight and supports accurate color perception. Warm 3000K at 8pm signals the body's circadian rhythm to begin winding down for sleep.
A traditional flush mount with a single color temperature can't accommodate this shift — you either get one mode 24 hours a day, or you install three separate fixtures with different bulbs. The Soren Remote version delivers all three in a single fixture. Click the remote to switch from cool to neutral to warm; the fixture transitions in under a second. One ceiling fixture, three lighting modes, one button press to change.

Integrated LED · 50,000 hour lifespan
Dual LED modules integrated into the housing — not socketed bulbs. Rated for 50,000 hours of operation, which works out to approximately 30 years at typical residential use (about 4 hours per day). Most homeowners will replace fixtures for stylistic reasons before the LED actually fails. The integrated approach also delivers uniform glow across the entire diffuser surface — no socket shadow visible from below.

Drum profile · 7 inches off the ceiling
The Soren's 7-inch drum proportion sits between a slim flush mount (1-2") and a deep semi-flush (10"+). The drum reads architectural at floor level — a deliberate object on the ceiling rather than a hidden disc. Pairs particularly well with rooms that have visible architectural details (exposed beams, crown molding, painted ceilings) where the fixture should hold its own visually.

PE Acrylic diffuser · uniform glow
PE Acrylic is the engineering polymer most commonly used for high-end LED diffusers — it transmits light evenly across the entire surface without hot spots, doesn't yellow from heat (unlike cheaper diffusers), and reads visually clean rather than plastic. The result: the lit Soren looks like a uniform disc of light rather than a fixture with visible LED dots through the cover.

Two sizes for medium-to-large rooms
17.7" for standard bedrooms, dining nooks, home offices, and medium kitchens (120-180 sq ft). 21.6" for large bedrooms, open-plan living areas, large kitchens, and primary living rooms (180+ sq ft). Both sizes deliver enough lumens to function as the sole ceiling fixture in residential rooms.

Choosing your ceiling fixture
Stuberlighting offers three ceiling fixture styles — and they're designed not to compete. Astra for ultra-slim 1.9" Modern Scandi minimalism (16-24" sizes, White or Green). Lottie for Vintage Retro stained-glass mushroom (10-14" sizes, 4 colors, Cottagecore/Y2K). Soren (this one) for Smart Home remote-dimmable drum with tri-color switching (18-22" sizes, larger rooms, modern apartments).

Questions
Which dimming version should I order — Remote, Triac, or Fixed? +
Remote Dimming if you want maximum flexibility — three color temperatures + brightness control all from a handheld remote. Best for living rooms, bedrooms, and any room where lighting needs change throughout the day.
Triac Dimming 3000K if you have an existing wall dimmer or prefer wall-switch control. Smooth brightness adjustment, fixed warm 3000K only. Best for home offices, dining rooms, and integrated smart home setups.
Fixed 3000K if you don't need dimming. Simple on/off with your existing wall switch. Best for hallways, basements, and utility spaces where dimming would be unused.
Default recommendation: Order Remote for primary rooms (worth the premium for daily use), Triac for offices, Fixed for utility.
How does the remote work? What if I lose it? +
The remote uses RF (radio frequency) communication — works through walls, around corners, and from any angle in the room (unlike infrared remotes that require line-of-sight). Battery-powered (AAA, included), no Wi-Fi or smart home hub required. Range approximately 30 feet.
If you lose the remote: Replacement remotes are available from service@stuberlighting.com for $15. The fixture can also be operated by toggling the wall switch — quick on/off, the LED will revert to its last-used color temperature and brightness setting.
Which size should I order — 17.7" or 21.6"? +
General rule for flush mount sizing — add the room's length + width in feet, then choose the diameter close to that sum in inches:
Room 10' × 12' (sum 22) → 17.7" fits well
Room 12' × 14' (sum 26) → 21.6" fits proportionally
Room 16'+ in either dimension → 21.6" still works, or consider two 17.7" units for even illumination
By room type: Standard bedroom (120-150 sq ft) = 17.7" · Larger primary bedroom or living room (180+ sq ft) = 21.6" · Open-plan dining/living = 21.6" or two 17.7" units.
Will the LED ever fail? What happens then? +
Soren's integrated LED is rated for 50,000 hours — at typical residential use (4 hours daily), that's approximately 30 years before reaching end-of-life. Most owners will replace the entire fixture for stylistic reasons (room remodel, design refresh) long before the LED actually fails.
If the LED does fail before you're ready to replace the fixture, the entire unit is designed to be removed and replaced like any other ceiling fixture — disconnect wiring, remove from junction box, install new fixture, restore power. The trade-off is no individual bulbs to replace, but eventual full-fixture replacement when the integrated LED reaches its lifespan.
How is this different from the Astra or Lottie? +
Three different fixtures, three different applications:
· Astra — 1.9" ultra-slim minimalism, Modern Scandinavian, 16-24" sizes, White or Green, integrated LED, Standard or Triac. Best for low ceilings and minimalist interiors.
· Lottie — 5.9" semi-flush mushroom shape, Vintage Retro, 10-14" sizes, 4 stained-glass colors, G9 replaceable bulbs. Best for Cottagecore/Y2K/Maximalist interiors.
· Soren (this fixture) — 7" drum profile, Modern Smart Home, 18-22" sizes, White only, integrated LED, Remote/Triac/Fixed options. Best for larger rooms and smart home setups.
The three fixtures don't overlap — they're designed for different rooms and different homeowner preferences.
Can I integrate this with Smart Home systems like Alexa or Google Home? +
Not directly — Soren uses RF remote, not Wi-Fi. The Remote version operates through its own RF handheld remote rather than connecting to Wi-Fi or smart home hubs. This is intentional: RF works without internet, doesn't add another smart device to your network, and doesn't depend on Alexa/Google Home services that change over time.
For Smart Home integration: pair the Triac Dimming version with a Smart Wall Dimmer (Lutron Caseta, TP-Link Kasa, etc.) — the smart dimmer integrates with Alexa/Google Home/Apple HomeKit, and controls the Soren's brightness through the existing wall connection. This is the standard architecture for integrating non-smart fixtures into smart home systems.
