Stuberlighting · The Pendant Files · No. 136
A little piece of the ceiling, watching over the room.
The Serafino is a brass angel that cradles a glass petal shade — made as a mirrored pair, one facing left and one facing right, so a doorway, a mirror or a table can be framed on both sides.

— The Object —
Some fixtures try to disappear into the ceiling. This one does the opposite — it's a small figure with a purpose, a brass angel holding a bloom of glass out into the room. Lit, the petal shade glows warm from the inside and the brass catches the edge of the light; unlit, it reads as a little sculpture rather than a switched-off lamp. It was designed for the moments in a house that reward a bit of ceremony: the powder room, the entry, the head of the bed, the corner of a dining room where the light should feel considered rather than merely functional.
What makes it unusual is that it comes in two directions. The angel faces left in one version and right in the other, so you can hang them as a matched, mirror-image pair — a symmetry that most pendant lighting simply can't offer. Framing an arched mirror, bracketing a doorway, floating on either side of a bed: the two halves face inward toward whatever they're lighting, and the room reads balanced instead of accidental.
Left & Right
One faces left. One faces right.
←
Version One
The Left Angel.
Faces left. Hang it on the right-hand side of a mirror or doorway so it turns inward toward the centre. Bought on its own, it works as a single bedside or corner pendant just as happily.
→
Version Two
The Right Angel.
Faces right. Hang it on the left-hand side so it too turns toward the centre. The mirror twin of the left angel — identical in every way but its direction.
↔
Together
The Set of Two.
Left and right ordered together, facing inward. The reason the fixture exists — a true mirror-image pair framing whatever sits between them.
Order the left, the right, or the set of two — in Brass & White or Brass & Pink.
Two Finishes
Brass, and the glass you pair it with.
Option One
Brass & White.
Warm brass against a milk-white glass petal. The quieter, more classic of the two — at home in a French-country dining room, a traditional powder room, or anywhere you want the fixture to feel timeless rather than trend-led.
Option Two
Brass & Pink.
Warm brass against a soft blush glass petal. The romantic one — made for nurseries, dressing rooms, feminine bedrooms and any space that wants a little warmth and whimsy. The pink deepens beautifully when the bulb is lit.
Materials
Brass and glass, and nothing pretending.
The angel & frame — brass-finish metal.
The figure, arm and canopy are metal in a warm brass finish with a lightly brushed texture, so the surface catches light along its edges rather than mirroring the room back at you. It's a finish chosen to age gracefully in a dry indoor room — a soft glow rather than a hard chrome shine.
The shade — petal-shaped glass.
A flower-shaped glass shade sits in the angel's hands. It diffuses the bulb into a soft, glare-free glow instead of a hard point of light — the practical reason this fixture reads as gentle and atmospheric rather than bright. Clean it with a dry or barely damp cloth; skip abrasive cleaners on both the glass and the brass finish.
Where It Hangs
Six rooms that reward a little ceremony.
01
Framing a powder-room mirror.
The set's home turf. Hang the left angel to the right of the mirror and the right angel to the left, both turned inward, and a small bathroom gets symmetrical, flattering light on both sides of the face — the kind of considered detail people notice the moment they walk in.
02
Either side of the bed.
A mirrored pair as hanging bedside lights frees both nightstands of lamps and gives the bed a framed, symmetrical presence. The compact 6.3-inch width keeps each one from crowding the nightstand below it.
03
Over a round dining or café table.
A single angel centred over a small round table, or a pair over a longer one, brings a French-country softness that a plain drum or globe can't. The glare-free petal glow is easy to sit under through a long dinner.
04
The entry or a narrow hallway.
A single angel above an entry console sets a warm, characterful tone at the front door. In a longer hallway, a left and a right spaced along the run turn a pass-through into something with a bit of narrative.
05
A nursery or a dressing room.
The Brass & Pink finish was made for exactly this — a soft, warm, whimsical glow over a crib or a dressing table. The angel motif reads sweet without tipping into cartoonish, and the diffused light is gentle enough for evening.
06
Boutique hospitality.
Boutique-hotel powder rooms, restaurant entries, bridal-suite vanities and photogenic short-term rentals — the mirrored pair gives a small space an instantly memorable, symmetrical signature that photographs well and costs little per room.

Installation
A standard hardwired swap.
Bulb Included
A warm-white bulb comes in the box.
Each pendant includes a warm-white E14 bulb, so it lights the first evening without a separate trip to the store. Fit it when you hang the fixture. Max 40W — don't exceed it.
Wiring
Hardwired to a standard ceiling junction box — the same connection your current fixture uses. Professional installation is recommended; shut off the breaker first, not just the wall switch.
Chain & Drop
Hangs on a 19.7-inch (50 cm) chain that shortens at installation to set the height. Longer drops are available on request — tell us before you order.
Control
Runs off any standard wall switch. To dim, fit a dimmable E14 bulb and use a compatible wall dimmer. Keep any replacement at or under Max 40W.

The Scale
Small on purpose.
This is a jewel-scale fixture, not a room-filling pendant — sized to accent a mirror or a small table rather than to light a whole space on its own.

6.3in
Diameter · 16 cm
About the width of a saucer. Slender enough to hang two side by side over a modest mirror without crowding.
13.3in
Height · 34 cm · body
The angel and shade alone. Add the 19.7-inch chain, then shorten it to set the total drop you want.
Quick check before you order: over a vanity or bedside, hang the bottom of the shade around 28–36 inches above the surface. For a mirrored pair flanking a mirror, allow at least the fixture's own width of clear wall on each side so the two don't feel cramped. Because each piece is only 6.3 inches wide, it suits mirrors and tables that a larger pendant would overwhelm.
Questions
Answered plainly.
What's the difference between Left, Right, and Set of 2?❀
The angel is a mirror image of itself in the two versions — one faces left, one faces right. Everything else is identical. Buy a single Left or a single Right for one pendant on its own; buy the Set of 2 for the matched, symmetrical pair the fixture was designed around. In a pair they face inward toward whatever sits between them. Choose the finish separately.
Does it come with a bulb?❀
Yes — a warm-white bulb is included with each pendant, so it lights the first evening without a separate purchase. It takes a standard E14 base, so any E14 LED rated at 40W-equivalent or below will fit when you eventually replace it; these are stocked at Home Depot, Lowe's and Amazon. Do not exceed Max 40W.
What is it actually made of?❀
A brass-finish metal body holding a petal-shaped glass shade. The brass finish has a lightly brushed texture so it glows softly along its edges rather than mirroring the room. We describe it as a brass finish rather than solid brass so there are no surprises when it arrives. Clean both the glass and the finish with a dry or barely damp cloth; avoid abrasive or solvent cleaners.
Which finish should I choose?❀
Brass & White is the classic, quieter choice. Brass & Pink is the romantic one, made for nurseries, dressing rooms and feminine bedrooms; the blush glass warms and deepens once the bulb is lit. Both share the same brass finish, so they coordinate if you want one of each in adjacent rooms.
Can I use it in a bathroom?❀
It's rated IP20 — indoor dry locations only, so it's suited to a powder room or a well-ventilated bathroom where it won't be hit by shower spray or sustained steam. Keep it clear of the wet zone directly over a tub or shower.
How is it installed, and can I dim it?❀
It's a hardwired pendant that mounts to a standard ceiling junction box and runs off an ordinary wall switch — professional installation is recommended, and shut off the breaker rather than just the switch before wiring. To dim it, fit a dimmable E14 bulb and pair it with a compatible wall dimmer; keep the bulb at or under Max 40W.
Is it bright enough to light a room?❀
Think of it as accent and atmosphere rather than a room's primary light. The petal glass diffuses the bulb into a soft, glare-free glow — exactly what you want over a vanity, a bedside or a small table — but a single 40W-max fixture won't flood a large room. In a bigger space, use it alongside other lighting, or hang a pair.
Do you work with trade and hospitality projects?❀
Yes. The Serafino specifies well for boutique-hotel powder rooms and bridal suites, restaurant entries, salon and spa vanities, and photogenic short-term rentals. We offer trade pricing on orders of 20 units and above, matched brass-batch coordination, and project scheduling. Standard lead time runs 4–6 weeks; larger coordinated orders 8–12 weeks. Send your project brief to support@stuberlighting.com.
From The Atelier
“We made it in two directions on purpose. A single angel is charming; a matched pair, one turned to the left and one to the right, turns a plain wall into something with a centre. Symmetry is the quiet luxury most lighting forgets to offer.”
