The complete wall sconce. Five sizes. Two finishes. Wired or plug-in.

The Pavo is our flagship Mid-Century wall sconce — the most complete configuration set in our lineup. Three single-arm lengths (23.6", 31.5", 47.2") for installations from compact bedside to long sofa-wall, plus two double-arm versions (47.2" and 55") for grand rooms that need symmetric illumination from a single fixture. Choose matte black for graphic contrast against light walls, or matte white for clean disappearance into white-on-white interiors. And critically — choose hardwired for a permanent installation, or plug-in for renters and anyone who doesn't want to call an electrician.

The geometry follows the same Mid-Century vocabulary as the rest of our Stellar Collection — a slim angular arm extending from the wall, ending in a pivoting conical reflector. Every reflector head adjusts independently to direct light exactly where you need it. The Pavo isn't trying to reinvent anything; it's the canonical version of the form, made available at the configurations and finishes that real American rooms actually need.

01

Five sizes — single and double-arm

Single-arm versions at 23.6", 31.5", or 47.2" for typical installations. Double-arm versions at 47.2" and 55" for grand walls, master bedrooms, and entryways that need balanced illumination from a single fixture.

02

Hardwired or plug-in

For permanent installations and remodels, choose hardwired — clean, no visible cord, integrated with the wall's electrical system. For renters, condos, or quick installations, choose plug-in — same fixture, 59-inch cord with inline switch, no electrician needed.

03

Matte black or matte white

Black for high-contrast, graphic, modernist rooms. White for Scandinavian, white-painted, and minimalist interiors where the form should read quietly. Both finishes accept any standard E26 bulb.

04

Pivoting reflector — directional control

Each reflector head pivots independently at the arm tip. Aim the light downward for reading, sideways for wall-wash ambient, upward for ceiling bounce — all from the same installed fixture.

Pavo or Atria — which Stellar wall sconce is for you?

We make two Stellar Collection wall sconces and the choice is about commitment and configuration. Choose the Atria if you're a renter or want a single, simple, plug-in version in black — it comes in two lengths only, plug-in only, black only. Choose the Pavo (this fixture) if you want the full configuration set — five lengths from 23 to 55 inches, single or double arm, hardwired or plug-in, black or white. The two share the same Mid-Century geometry; the difference is the depth of options.

Part of the Stellar Collection

The Pavo joins our Stellar Collection — five matched fixtures sharing the same matte material language and articulated geometry, scaled to five positions in the home:

Vega — floor lamp, 62.9" tripod base.

Lyra — table lamp, 31.5" weighted base.

Atria — wall sconce, 28-60" plug-in single arm.

Pavo (this fixture) — wall sconce, full configuration set with hardwired or plug-in option.

Cassio — multi-arm ceiling chandelier, 3 or 6 light.

Where the Pavo mounts best

Bedside, above the headboard (23.6") — single-arm reach over the bed; hardwired into the wall above the headboard for a clean, cord-free look.

Behind a sofa, single side (31.5" or 47.2") — long-arm reach over the seating area; replaces a floor lamp without taking floor space.

Master bedroom centered above headboard (47.2" double-arm) — symmetric double-arm version covers both sides of the bed from a single ceiling-mounted unit.

Grand entryway or stairwell (55" double-arm) — the largest version is genuinely architectural; reads as a piece of the building's design rather than fixture.

Renter installations (plug-in option, any size) — when hardwiring isn't possible, the plug-in version delivers the same look with a 59-inch cord routed along the wall.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose hardwired or plug-in? +

Choose hardwired if you own the home and are doing a remodel, or if you have an existing electrical box in the wall where the sconce will mount. This gives the cleanest look — no visible cord — but requires an electrician to install. Choose plug-in if you're renting, if there's no electrical box at the desired mounting location, or if you want a quick installation without hiring an electrician. The plug-in version includes a 59-inch cord with an inline switch, which routes along the wall to the nearest outlet. Both versions deliver the same lighting; the difference is installation complexity and cord visibility.

How do I know which size is right for my wall? +

For bedside, the 23.6" single-arm is usually best — long enough to reach over a nightstand and provide reading-position light without overhanging the bed too far. For behind a sofa, choose the 31.5" or 47.2" depending on how wide your sofa is — the arm should clear the back of the sofa by 6-10 inches. For master bedroom centered above the headboard, the 47.2" 2-light is ideal — symmetric reach across both sides of the bed. For grand entryways or stairwells, the 55" 2-light delivers true architectural scale. If unsure, measure the wall area where the sconce will mount, and choose a size where the fixture occupies roughly 50-65% of the wall width.

Is the bulb really included? +

Yes — each Pavo ships with E26 bulbs matched to the configuration (one bulb for single-arm versions, two bulbs for double-arm versions). The included bulbs are warm-white LED, 2700K, which is the temperature we recommend for Mid-Century interiors. If you prefer a different color temperature or want to use Edison filament bulbs for a vintage look, the sockets accept any standard E26 bulb up to 40W. Replace bulbs when needed; the fixture itself is rated for years of use.

For best results with hardwired installations, ensure the existing wall electrical box is rated for the fixture's weight (especially for the 2-light versions, which are heavier).

Plug-in cord runs along the wall from fixture to nearest outlet; consider cord covers or routing behind furniture for the cleanest appearance.

Safety tested for indoor use in dry locations. Meets technical requirements for North American residential lighting installations.
