CLUSTER · N°01 · BALLOON BUBBLE

Soft bubbles.
Three unusual colours.

A cluster of balloon-shaped bubbles in premium PVC — the fixture that answers a specific question: how do you get warmth into a room without adding a beige lampshade? The Palina comes in three considered colours (deep anthracite, soft light grey, warm terracotta) and two orientations (vertical drop, horizontal spread). No wood tones, no metal statement, no silk. Just clean geometric bubbles and a colour choice that behaves like furniture.

2 orientations 3 colours G9 bulbs included

Colour, chosen deliberately.

Most modern pendant lights default to white, black, or brass. This is safe territory — it's why nearly every dining room in the last decade has ended up with the same two or three fixtures. The Palina goes somewhere else: a curated three-colour range designed to behave like textile choices rather than lighting neutrals. Each colour has a specific reason to be in the range.

Colour 01

Anthracite Grey.

Deep charcoal — the darkest of the three. Reads as sculptural rather than decorative when unlit; disappears against dark ceilings and holds visual weight against light ones. The choice for interiors already using warm neutrals in furniture, where the fixture is meant to anchor rather than add colour. Modern architectural, industrial-adjacent, restrained.

Colour 02

Light Grey.

Soft warm neutral — closer to putty than to concrete. Reads as considered rather than decorative in either lit or unlit state. The safe choice for interiors that want a colour commitment without committing to a specific palette. Works across Scandinavian, Japandi, minimalist, and traditional interiors.

Colour 03

Terracotta.

Warm earthy orange — the range's statement. Reads as intentional colour rather than as accent; belongs in interiors where the fixture is meant to hold its own personality. Pairs unexpectedly well with black metal, walnut, cream linen, and stone-tile kitchens. The colour to choose when the safe choices don't feel like enough.

Orientation

Vertical or horizontal.

Vertical drop.

10.2"⌀ × H 18.9"

Bubbles arranged in a compact vertical stack, dropping from a single ceiling canopy. The taller-than-wide silhouette makes the fixture read as a sculptural cluster from the side — belongs in bedrooms, foyers, staircases, and rooms where the pendant needs to hold vertical space. Pair vertically for bedside pendants or over a narrow console.

Horizontal spread.

22.8"⌀ × H 10.2"

Bubbles arranged in a horizontal line, hung from a single spanning canopy. The wider-than-tall silhouette spreads illumination across a linear surface — belongs above kitchen islands, dining tables, coffee bars, and any horizontal work-surface application. The stronger statement of the two orientations.

Material

PVC and metal frame.

Premium PVC shades.

Each bubble is precision-formed from premium polymer PVC — chosen for its smooth uniform finish, colour stability across years of installation, and lightweight construction that keeps the cluster easy to install and easy to service. The finish is matte rather than glossy; the colour reads as pigment rather than as painted coating.

Metal frame.

A blackened metal frame connects the bubbles into the cluster and holds each G9 socket in position. The frame is intentionally simple — no ornament, no design commentary, just structural connections that hold the geometry. Reads as architectural rather than as decorative.

Rooms

Where the Palina belongs.

Kitchen island

Horizontal, above the counter.

The primary specification. Horizontal orientation, Terracotta or Anthracite Grey depending on the palette. Spread illumination across the island length; the linear cluster reads as considered rather than as three-pendant-cluster generic.

Modern dining room

Horizontal for long tables.

Horizontal above 6-8-seat rectangular tables; single vertical over 4-seat round tables. The colour is the fixture's statement — Terracotta over walnut, Light Grey over natural oak, Anthracite over black-metal industrial furniture.

Foyer & staircase

Vertical drop.

Vertical orientation in double-height foyers and staircase applications. The vertical bubble cluster holds vertical space intentionally; Terracotta for warm-welcoming entries, Anthracite for architectural-modernist entries.

Children's rooms

Playful, considered.

Terracotta especially — the soft balloon silhouette reads as playful without being juvenile. Correct for children's rooms and family-friendly interiors that want colour without the primary-colour palette of child-marketed fixtures. Vertical orientation is safer for lower ceilings.

Questions

Vertical or horizontal — which orientation?

Vertical for rooms where the fixture is meant to hold vertical space — foyers, staircases, single-pendant applications over 4-seat round tables, bedside pendants in pairs, children's rooms with lower ceilings. Compact footprint (10.2" diameter); reads sculptural rather than statement. Horizontal for rooms where the fixture is meant to span a horizontal work surface — kitchen islands, long dining tables (6-8 seats), coffee bars, breakfast counters. Wider footprint (22.8" spread); stronger visual statement. When in doubt: choose vertical for narrower rooms, horizontal for wider ones.

Which colour should I choose?

Anthracite Grey for interiors with rich neutrals (walnut, warm greys, cream) where the fixture is meant to anchor rather than add colour — modernist, industrial, architectural. Light Grey for interiors that want a colour commitment without a specific palette lock-in — Scandinavian, Japandi, minimalist, transitional. The safest choice across the widest range of interiors. Terracotta for interiors that want the fixture to bring warmth or personality — pairs unexpectedly well with black metal, walnut, cream linen, stone-tile kitchens, and any interior committing to warm earth tones. The colour to choose when Light Grey feels too safe.

Is PVC durable enough for a lighting fixture?

Yes — premium PVC is one of the most common shade materials in modern lighting, chosen for its uniform finish, colour stability, and low weight. The Palina uses precision-formed premium PVC (not thin injection-moulded plastic) — smooth matte surface, colour throughout the material rather than as a painted coating, and structural rigidity that maintains the balloon silhouette across years of installation. Bulbs run cool (G9 LED at 40W max produces minimal heat); the shade material is well within its thermal tolerance range. Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth; no special maintenance required.

Can I dim it?

Yes — recommended for dining and living-room evening use. The included G9 LED bulbs are non-dimmable warm-white. To enable dimming: replace with dimmable G9 LEDs (widely available, $10-18 each) and install a compatible triac wall dimmer. At 40-60% brightness, the PVC bubbles read at their most atmospheric — the colour deepens, the cluster reads as evening lighting rather than as bright task illumination. For dining rooms specifically, dimming is what unlocks the fixture's atmospheric range.

How do I clean the bubbles?

Easily. Wipe each bubble with a soft dry microfibre cloth every 2-3 months to remove dust. For deeper cleaning: a barely-damp cloth with water (no cleaning products, no ammonia, no abrasive sponges) removes fingerprints and residue. The matte PVC finish is more forgiving than glossy plastic or painted surfaces — small scuffs typically buff out with dry cloth pressure. Avoid direct sunlight over years (which can subtly fade coloured PVC in extremely bright rooms). Kept in normal indoor conditions, the colour and finish last for the fixture's full lifespan.

Hospitality-scale and commercial orders?

Yes — the Palina is well-suited for cafés, restaurants, coworking spaces, retail interiors, and boutique-hospitality applications wanting colourful pendant lighting without silk or brass price commitments. The three-colour range allows coordinated multi-room installations; matched-batch bubble PVC coordination for multi-fixture orders and interior-designer trade pricing are available. Custom cable lengths at no extra charge. Write to support@stuberlighting.com with your project brief — installation count, ceiling heights, colour/orientation mix, timeline.

"Most modern pendants default to white, black, or brass — safe, predictable, correct in a survey but rarely memorable. The Palina goes elsewhere: three considered colours that behave more like textile choices than like lighting neutrals. Terracotta especially — the colour that made this range worth producing. If your interior is ready for a fixture that commits to a palette rather than defers to one, this is that fixture."
