Stuberlighting  ·  Alabaster Globe Pendant No. 172

Orbita

Alabaster Globe Pendant

Spheres of genuine alabaster held on slim brass rods — a galactic, mid-century composition that scales from a single long drop to a thirteen-globe cluster. Each stone glows softly from within, like a small warm planet.

Base

E14 · max 40W

The Orbita takes a simple element — a rounded shade of real alabaster — and arranges it like a small solar system. On slim brass rods, the globes float at different points, catching light and throwing a soft, mineral glow. Because it's genuine stone rather than glass or resin, the light is warm and diffused, and every sphere is uniquely veined.

Four configurations let it fit the room: a single long drop over an island, or a full thirteen-globe cluster that anchors a foyer or a stairwell.

One of a Kind

Real stone, never repeated.

Each globe is carved from genuine natural alabaster, so veining, translucency, and tone vary from sphere to sphere — and across a cluster, every globe is a little different.

That's the nature of real stone — and it means your piece won't match the photos exactly.

A Soft, Muted Glow

Ambiance, not brightness.

Because the light passes through solid stone, the glow is warm and gently muted rather than bright and task-like. It's designed to set a mood — a soft, atmospheric light, not a floodlight.

If you need bright, functional light in the same room, plan to pair it with other sources.

Bulbs, Dimming & Install

The practical details.

Bulbs

Each globe takes a small E14 bulb, max 40W. A warm-white (about 2700K) bulb best suits the stone. On multi-globe versions you'll want one bulb per globe — check the count before ordering.

Dimming

Pair dimmable E14 bulbs with a compatible dimmer switch for smooth, flicker-free control — the stone's veining shifts beautifully as you dim. Dimming depends on the bulbs and switch you choose.

Weight & install

Solid stone is heavy, and the larger clusters especially so. It's a hardwired ceiling fixture — confirm the ceiling can carry the load and use a licensed electrician, particularly for the 5- and 13-globe versions.

Cord & placement

Comes on a 59" (150cm) cord, adjustable and extendable on request. Runs AC 110–240V. Rated IP20 for indoor dry locations — not waterproof.

Questions

Answered plainly.

How bright is it?+

Because light passes through solid natural stone, the glow is warm and gently muted — ambient rather than bright. It's meant to set a mood, so if you need task-level brightness in the same room, plan to layer it with other light sources.

What configurations are available?+

Four: a single globe on a long drop (H78.7"), a 3-globe linear row, a 5-globe round cluster, and a 13-globe grand cluster. The single is dramatic over an island; the clusters make a foyer or stairwell statement. Tap the size images above to compare.

What bulb does it use, and can I dim it?+

Each globe takes an E14 bulb, max 40W (one per globe; a warm 2700K suits the stone). With dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch you can dim it smoothly — the veining shifts as you dial it down. Bulbs aren't included.

Will the stone match the photos?+

No — each globe is genuine natural alabaster, so veining and tone are unique to each piece and differ from the photos. On a cluster, each globe also varies from the next. That's the character of real stone, not a flaw.

Is it heavy to install?+

Solid stone has real weight, and the larger clusters are heavy. It's a hardwired fixture, so confirm the ceiling structure can carry the load and use a licensed electrician — especially for the 5- and 13-globe versions.

From The Atelier

“We think of the Orbita as a little solar system. One alabaster globe on a long brass rod is already quietly beautiful; thirteen of them, orbiting on brass, become a room's center of gravity. The stone stays soft and warm — and no two globes are ever the same.”
