Mame Table Lamp

9.8" (25 cm) both wide and tall — the Mame is genuinely small. As a size reference: slightly larger than a standard hardcover book laid flat, roughly the size of a large mug or a small water pitcher. Fits comfortably on any standard bedside nightstand (12"+ wide) with plenty of room left for phone, water glass, book. Particularly appreciated in smaller bedrooms, urban apartments, guest rooms, and children's rooms where floor space is limited and the nightstand does double duty as functional surface.

Bulb included. Every Mame ships with a standard non-dimmable warm-white LED bulb pre-fitted in the E26 (US) or E27 (EU/UK/AU) socket, calibrated to 2700K for correct warm-glow character through the khaki linen shade. Plug it in, press the switch, done. If you want to upgrade: the socket accepts any standard E26 (US) or E27 (EU/UK/AU) bulb. For dimming, swap in a dimmable warm-white LED. Model A — quieter weave khaki linen shade with smooth fabric surface. Reads as more polished and universal — the safer choice if you want the lamp to disappear into the room's palette without drawing attention to its shade texture. Model B — textured weave with subtle vertical variation in the fibre, catches evening light with slightly more dimension. Reads as more visibly-handmade and wabi-sabi-authentic. Choose Model B if you want the shade itself to be part of the room's decorative moment; choose Model A if the shade should be quiet background. Both use the same warm khaki tone and identical wood base.

Yes — matched Mame bedside pairs are one of the fixture's most-loved applications. Because each Mame is handmade with natural wood variation, individual units will show subtle differences in wood colour, grain pattern, and (for Model B) shade texture. This variation is inherent to the material and reads as considered craft rather than manufacturing defect. Yes with the correct combination. The pre-fitted bulb is non-dimmable, and the inline switch on the cord operates as on/off only. For dimming, swap the included bulb for a dimmable E26 (US) or E27 (EU/UK/AU) warm-white LED (widely available; check package for "dimmable" label), and plug the lamp into a wall outlet controlled by a triac-compatible wall dimmer (Lutron Diva and Caseta triac dimmers are known LED-compatible). At 30-40% brightness the khaki linen shade catches light at its most atmospheric register — particularly correct for pre-sleep bedside use.

For bedside use, yes — the Mame is calibrated as an atmospheric warm evening lamp rather than a task lamp for extended detailed reading. The included warm-white LED (equivalent to 40W incandescent) provides enough light for comfortable bedtime reading of most standard-print books when the lamp sits at correct bedside distance (12-18" from your reading material). For extended detailed task reading, small-print books, or paper work sessions, we recommend supplementing with a dedicated task lamp. The Mame's purpose is warm ambient character, not overhead-quality task illumination.

Wooden base: wipe with soft dry microfibre cloth for regular dust; for stubborn marks, slightly damp microfibre with mild dish soap solution then dry immediately. Every 6-12 months, treat with a light wood conditioner or beeswax to preserve the natural grain and prevent drying. Avoid ammonia cleaners, harsh solvents, or prolonged direct sunlight exposure (may fade the wood over time). Khaki linen shade: gently vacuum with a fabric-brush attachment on lowest suction setting to remove dust every 3-6 months. For spot marks, gentle spot-clean with dry-cleaning solvent applied via clean white cloth, blotted gently — do not rub, and never machine-wash or soak in water.

The Mame ships with the fabric shade wrapped around the base for compact shipping, and the shade attaches to a small metal ring at the top of the wooden base with a few simple fasteners.
