Architecture, scaled to a table.
The Lyra is a sculptural table lamp built around three structural lines: a slim vertical stem, a horizontally extended angular arm, and a pivoting circular reflector at the arm's tip. The proportions are taller and wider than a conventional table lamp — 21.7 inches across, 31.5 inches tall — which means the lamp behaves more like a piece of furniture than an accessory. It anchors a side table, occupies the corner of a desk like a small floor lamp, and reads as graphic architecture from across the room.
The arm pivots horizontally; the reflector tilts vertically. Same lamp, multiple light positions depending on what the table needs to do right now. Matte black throughout — graphic, monochrome, instantly recognizable as Mid-Century-modernist sculpture. Plug-in installation with 59-inch cord and inline switch. Available with US, UK, EU, or AU plug.
Oversized table-lamp scale
21.7 inches wide, 31.5 inches tall — larger than a standard table lamp, smaller than a floor lamp. Designed to anchor a side table or corner desk; reads architectural rather than accessorial.
Adjustable arm + pivoting reflector
Brass pivot joint at arm base allows horizontal swivel; reflector head tilts vertically. Point the head over a book at a side table, swing across a desk for task light, redirect upward for ambient wash on the wall.
Matte black throughout — graphic line
Monochromatic matte black across stem, arm, and reflector. The form reads as a single line drawing in the room — minimalist, sculptural, designed to be seen as much as used.
Plug-in installation — works anywhere
59-inch power cord with inline push-button switch. E26 socket accepts standard LED or filament bulbs. No electrician, no hardwiring; set it on a table, plug it in, position the arm.
When a table lamp earns its place
Most table lamps are decorative — small, neutral, designed to disappear behind a sofa or beside a bed. The Lyra is the opposite. At 31.5 inches tall and 21.7 inches wide, it's larger than the usual table lamp and asks to be seen. The reward for the visual real estate is what it lets the table do — a lamp this size and this articulated turns an ordinary side table into a reading station, a console into a desk, a bedside table into something that earns its corner. It's the kind of lamp you choose when the lamp is the room's design moment, not the supporting cast.
Part of the Stellar Collection
The Lyra is one of three matched fixtures in our Stellar Collection — same matte black material language, same articulated-arm geometry, scaled to three positions in the room:
Vega — floor lamp. 62.9 inches tall on a tripod base; anchors a corner or stands behind a reading chair.
Atria — wall lamp. Long sweeping arm extending from the wall; above a bed, behind a sofa, in a hallway.
Lyra (this fixture) — table lamp. 31.5 inches tall on a weighted base; sits on a side table, desk corner, or wide nightstand.
Where the Lyra earns its place
Side table next to a reading chair — point the arm over the chair seat for shoulder-height reading light; the oversized scale fills the visual space the chair commands.
Corner of a desk or console — large enough to handle a full desk surface as task lighting; the long arm clears the work area without crowding.
Bedside on a wide nightstand — anchors a master-bedroom nightstand the way a small floor lamp would; the arm reaches over the bed for reading.
Living room console or sideboard — sculptural piece in its own right; treats the lamp as art rather than utility.
Home office, studio, or designer workspace — the matte black graphic line complements modernist, mid-century, and industrial interiors equally.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this lamp too tall for a normal side table? +
At 31.5 inches tall, the Lyra is taller than a typical table lamp (most are 24-28 inches). On a standard 24-26 inch side table, the lamp's reflector head ends up around shoulder-height for someone seated nearby — which is ideal for reading lamps. On a lower 18-22 inch nightstand, the lamp will dominate visually, which is the point of an oversized statement lamp. Avoid placing it on a low coffee table; the proportions don't read well there.
What kind of bulb should I use? +
The E26 socket accepts any standard household bulb up to 40W. For reading-chair installations, use a 2700K-3000K LED bulb (60W equivalent is plenty). For desk task lighting, step up to 3500K-4000K for a more focused beam. Clear-glass Edison filament bulbs work especially well visually — the visible filament reads instantly modernist behind the open reflector. Avoid 5000K+ "daylight" bulbs; the cool blue tone fights the matte black palette.
Does the arm stay where I position it? +
Yes. The brass pivot joint holds position by friction — move the arm by hand to where you want it, and it stays. The reflector head tilts independently at its own joint. Neither will drift downward or sag over time. The friction is designed to require deliberate movement, not light bumps, so it won't accidentally reposition when something nearby gets jostled.
For the warmest sculptural-glow effect, use a clear-glass filament Edison bulb at 2700K. The visible filament reads instantly Mid-Century behind the open reflector.
The base is weighted for stability under the full extension of the arm; place on a flat, sturdy surface at least 22 inches across to prevent tipping.
Safety tested for indoor use in dry locations. Meets technical requirements for North American residential lighting installations.
