LED life

Outdoor lighting in most American homes is an afterthought — a single porch fixture, maybe a string of cheap solar lights leaning sideways in the flower bed by August. Then the homeowner spends a year wishing the front walkway looked welcoming, the back patio felt usable after sunset, and the garden didn't disappear into darkness the moment the sun went down. The Larsen is designed for that homeowner.

It's a modern Scandinavian outdoor lantern in three sizes — small for steps and accent placement, medium for porches and patios, large for full pathway lighting and statement entries. The construction is IP65 weatherproof stainless steel, sealed against rain, snow, sleet, and the pressure-washer at the end of the season. The light source is an integrated LED rated for 50,000 hours, with three selectable color temperatures so you can match the lantern to the room it's lighting, not the other way around.

Integrated LED, no bulbs to replace. IP65 weatherproof. Built to UL safety standards. Choose Hardwired for permanent installation on AC mains, or Solar for cordless installation anywhere the sun reaches. Remote control included.

What makes the Larsen

01

Solar or Hardwired — your choice at checkout

Hardwired for permanent installations on AC mains — most reliable, full brightness, ideal for pathways that need to be lit every night without exception. Solar for installations where running wire is impractical — anywhere in the yard the sun reaches, no excavation, no electrician. The integrated solar panel charges through daylight, runs 8-12 hours after dark depending on charge level.

02

IP65 weatherproof — full outdoor exposure

IP65 is the industrial rating for "dust-tight, protected against water jets from any direction." In practice: rain is fine, snow is fine, pressure-washing the patio is fine. The Larsen is sealed against the kind of weather American homeowners actually subject outdoor fixtures to — including humid summers and freeze-thaw winters that destroy cheaper landscape lighting within a season or two.

03

Three color temperatures · remote control included

3000K warm for cozy patio dinners and Mid-Century-style front yards. 4000K neutral for general pathway and porch lighting where balanced visibility matters. 6000K cool for security lighting and modern minimalist installations. Switch between modes via the included handheld remote — no walking to a wall switch in the dark.

04

Stainless steel construction · 50,000 hour LED

The body is stainless steel — won't rust through coastal humidity, road-salt winters, or pool-deck chlorine exposure. The integrated LED is rated for 50,000 hours of operation, which works out to roughly 30 years at typical residential use (4-5 hours per evening). Most American homeowners will sell the house before the Larsen needs replacing.

05

Three sizes for different placements

18.9" small for steps, accent placement, and table-edge porches. 29.5" medium for front porches, patios, and general garden installations (most popular). 39.4" large for pathway lining, statement entries, and pool-deck applications where the lantern should anchor the visual space.

— On outdoor lighting —

"A house with lit outdoor spaces is a house that gets used after sunset."

American homes have more outdoor square footage than most homeowners ever use. Backyards sit empty after 7pm; front walkways disappear into shadow; patios that cost $20,000 to build stop being inviting the moment the sun goes down. The reason, almost always, is lighting.

The Larsen is designed to extend the usable hours of outdoor spaces. Three Larsens spaced down a front walkway turn an after-dark approach into a welcoming arrival. Two on a back patio mean dinner doesn't end with the sunset. A single tall Larsen by the pool deck means evening swims actually happen. The product isn't the lantern — the product is hours added back to the days you already have outdoor space for.

— Choosing your size —

Three sizes, three uses

18.9"

SMALL · STEPS & ACCENT

For porch steps, table-edge placement, low garden accents, and corners that need a small lantern presence without dominating the space. Single placement or in pairs flanking a doorway. The smallest Larsen — most ordered for ground-level accent lighting.

29.5"

MEDIUM · MOST POPULAR

For front porches, patio installations, garden bed lining, and general outdoor lighting. Reads as a deliberate decorative object at standing-eye level. The most-ordered Larsen size — works in most American outdoor applications without feeling either undersized or imposing.

39.4"

LARGE · STATEMENT & PATHWAYS

For pathway lining (3-5 units down a walkway), statement entry placements, pool-deck applications, and outdoor installations where the lantern itself should anchor the visual space. The largest Larsen reads architectural — particularly striking when used as a series rather than a single placement.

— Where it lives —

Recommended spaces

Front walkway · 3-5 large Larsens · Solar

The signature application — three to five 39.4" Larsens spaced 6-8 feet apart along a front walkway, set to Solar for no excavation or wiring. The pathway transforms from a dark approach to a welcoming nighttime arrival. The remote handles all units simultaneously.

Patio dining · pair of medium Larsens · Hardwired

Two 29.5" Larsens flanking the patio dining table, Hardwired to the house electrical for reliability. The 3000K warm color temperature creates the soft amber glow that turns outdoor dinners into evening events — the ones that linger past sunset because the lighting makes them want to.

Front porch · single medium · either power

A single 29.5" Larsen on the front porch corner, replacing the dim sconce that came with the house. Solar works if the porch gets afternoon sun; Hardwired runs from a porch outlet for permanent installation. Either way, the porch becomes a deliberate welcome rather than an afterthought.

Pool deck · 2-4 large Larsens · Solar

Evening pool use becomes practical with Larsens spaced around the pool perimeter. Solar is recommended (no wiring near pool water for safety), large size for visual presence, IP65 rating means chlorine splash and pool-deck pressure-washing are both safe.

Garden & flower beds · small to medium · Solar

Place 18.9" or 29.5" Larsens among landscaping — they read as deliberate Scandinavian accent objects rather than the typical cheap solar pathway lights that lean sideways within a year. Stainless steel construction means the Larsen will outlast the plants around it.

Side yard or driveway · medium · Solar

For the side yards and driveway approaches American homes mostly forget about. Solar Larsens placed at strategic points turn shadow zones into lit zones — security benefit and aesthetic benefit at the same time. No wiring required, install in 10 minutes.

Questions

Should I order Solar or Hardwired? +

Solar if any of these apply:
· The installation location is away from house electrical (mid-garden, far end of yard, pool deck)
· You don't want to dig a trench or hire an electrician
· The location gets at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight daily
· You're okay with 8-12 hours of runtime per charge (typical for evening use)

Hardwired if:
· You want consistent maximum brightness every night without weather dependency
· The installation is near house electrical or an existing outdoor outlet
· You're willing to run wire or hire an electrician
· You want all-night operation (Solar is limited by daytime charge)

For most American homeowners, Solar is the easier choice for back/side yard installations; Hardwired is preferred for front porch and primary pathway applications.

How does Solar charging work in winter or cloudy weather? +

The Solar version's runtime depends on charge level. Full charge (after a sunny day): 10-12 hours runtime. Partial charge (cloudy day or short winter daylight): 4-6 hours runtime. Multiple consecutive cloudy days: runtime drops until the panel sees direct sun again.

Northern climates with long winters: Solar Larsens may underperform December-February when daylight is shortest. For consistent winter operation, choose Hardwired. Some homeowners install Hardwired for the front walkway and Solar for the garden/back yard — best of both for different locations.

Cleaning the panel: Wipe the top solar panel monthly with a damp cloth to remove dust, leaves, and snow accumulation. Clean panels charge significantly faster.

Which size should I order — 19", 30", or 39"? +

Match the height to the application:

18.9" small — for step accents, table edges, low landscape lighting, kid-eye-level garden decoration
29.5" medium — for porches, patios, garden bed lining at standing eye level (the default for most installations)
39.4" large — for pathways, statement entries, pool decks where the lantern itself should anchor visual space

Common configurations:
· Pathway lining: 3-5 large 39.4" spaced 6-8 feet apart
· Patio dining: 2 medium 29.5" flanking the table
· Front porch corners: 2 medium 29.5" or 1 large 39.4"
· Garden accents: 4-6 small 18.9" or medium 29.5"

Can I leave them outside in winter? Freezing temperatures? +

Yes — the Larsen is designed for full year-round outdoor exposure.

· Stainless steel body doesn't rust through winter humidity or freeze-thaw cycles
· IP65 sealing prevents water from penetrating during snow accumulation or rain
· LED operates across temperatures from -20°F to 120°F
· Solar battery tolerates winter cold but charges slower (clean snow off the panel regularly)

For extreme conditions: If your area routinely sees -30°F or below, bring Solar units inside for the deepest winter months — Hardwired units can stay outside indefinitely. For coastal areas with salt spray, rinse the body with fresh water once a month to prevent salt buildup on the finish.

What happens when the integrated LED eventually fails? +

At 50,000 hours of rated life (~30 years at typical evening use), most owners will sell the home or remodel the landscape long before the LED fails. If it does fail, the entire fixture is designed to be replaced like any other landscape lighting fixture — disconnect (Hardwired) or simply remove the stake (Solar), install a new unit. No bulbs to source, no LED modules to fish out, no electrician needed for Solar replacements.
