Ginkgo Series · N°05 · Style L
The residential-plus Ginkgo.
Between the residential-scale Vico chandelier and the architectural-scale Style M flagship sits the Style L — sized for the specific rooms in a typical home that ask for more than the Vico provides: primary bedrooms with 10-ft ceilings, dining rooms above six seats, staircases in three-story homes, foyers with meaningful height. Two model shapes: Model A (linear rectangular) and Model B (round vertical). Six configurations across the two. Rose Gold framing, hand-crafted porcelain leaves.
Model A
Linear rectangular · 2 sizes
Model B
Round vertical · 4 sizes
The Style L is what the Ginkgo Series looks like when a residential home outgrows the standard-scale chandelier.
Most residential chandeliers are sized for the average American dining room — 4-6 seat table, 8-9 ft ceiling, restrained proportion. That works until the room isn't average. A primary bedroom with a king bed and 10-ft ceilings; a dining room with a rectangular table and 8-10 seats; a double-height foyer with 12-ft ceilings and a staircase to fill; a formal room in a mid-century architecture home where the ceiling was designed for something more. The Vico chandelier is correct until the room asks for more, and the Style M flagship is more chandelier than most homes need. The Style L sits in the middle — sized proportionally for the rooms in mid-century, contemporary, and traditional homes where the standard chandelier reads too small.
Two model shapes across six configurations. Model A (Linear Rectangular) drops vertically from a long horizontal frame, correct for rectangular dining tables and staircase applications. Model B (Round Vertical) descends in a circular cascade, correct for round dining tables, primary bedrooms, and foyer applications where the circular composition holds vertical space intentionally.
Model A
Linear.
Rectangular.
2 Sizes · Vertical drop

A rectangular composition suspended from a horizontal frame, descending vertically. Ceramic ginkgo leaves cascade down the length of the fixture, producing a shape that follows a rectangular dining table's axis or a staircase's vertical volume. Two sizes.
L 31.5" × H 78"
6-seat rectangular dining
L 39.3" × H 98.4"
8-seat dining · staircase
Model B
Round.
Vertical.
4 Sizes · Cascading drop

A circular composition that cascades vertically from the ceiling. Ceramic ginkgo leaves radiate outward in a round silhouette, then descend downward to fill vertical space. The classic Ginkgo-Series shape at four scale points — from residential-entry (23.6") to architectural (39.4").

Choosing
Linear or round?
The choice between Model A (linear rectangular) and Model B (round vertical) is a choice about what shape the room wants to hold. Neither is objectively better — they answer different architectural questions.
Choose Model A (Linear) when:
- The dining table is rectangular with 6-8 seats
- The staircase runs vertically down a long open volume
- The foyer is deep-and-narrow rather than square
- The primary bedroom is long-and-narrow
- You want the fixture's shape to follow the room's linearity
Choose Model B (Round) when:
- The dining table is round or square
- The foyer is square with a double-height ceiling
- The primary bedroom is square with a king bed centred
- The staircase is a square rotunda rather than a linear run
- You want the fixture to hold vertical space as a rotating focal point
Craft
Individually hand-shaped. Hand-glazed. Rose Gold framed.
Every ginkgo leaf on every Style L configuration is individually hand-shaped from porcelain clay in our atelier. The largest Model B XL configuration contains over 180 leaves — each of which passes through the same slow craft steps: hand-shaping from raw clay, firing at high temperature, hand-brushed matte-white glazing, and manual mounting to the Rose Gold frame. This is the tradition's signature and the reason production lead times run 4-6 weeks; there is no factory-scaled shortcut for a ceramic fixture at this level.
The metal frame is polished Rose Gold as standard — a warm pink-gold register that pairs particularly well with matte-white porcelain and reads more contemporary than traditional yellow-gold finishes. Alternative frame finishes (Copper Gold, Nickel, Chrome, White, Gold, Black) available at no additional charge; specify at checkout or within 24 hours of order.
Rooms
Where the Style L belongs.
|
Dining rooms. 6-10 seats |
Model A over rectangular tables; Model B over round or square tables. Hang 30-36 inches above the tabletop. The smaller Model A (L 31.5") for 6-seat rectangular; the larger (L 39.3") for 8-seat. Model B in Medium or Large depending on table diameter. |
|
Primary bedrooms. King bed · 10-ft ceilings |
Model B Small (23.6") or Medium (27.6") over king beds in primary bedrooms with 10-ft-plus ceilings. Centred above the bed; hang 30-32 inches above the mattress top. The circular composition reads as considered decoration without dropping into the room's active-use volume. |
|
Double-height foyers. 12-16 ft ceilings |
Model B Large (31.5"⌀ × H 98.4") for standard 12-ft foyers; Model B XL (39.4"⌀ × H 118.1") for 14-16-ft ceilings and staircase-integrated entryways. The vertical drop reads architectural rather than decorative; the fixture is meant to define the entryway rather than defer to it. |
|
Staircases & open volumes. Multi-story homes |
Model A Large (L 39.3" × H 98.4") for linear stairwells; Model B XL for square-rotunda stairs. Hang 7-8 ft from the lowest step-tread walkway to the bottom of the fixture. The extended vertical drop is exactly what stairwells ask for — architectural presence that fills the volume without being visited at eye-level. |

Questions
Model A or Model B — which is right for my room? ○
The choice follows the shape of the room. Model A (Linear Rectangular) — for rectangular dining tables (6-8 seats), long-and-narrow foyers, staircase applications where the vertical drop follows a linear stairwell, and any room where the horizontal dimension exceeds the depth. Choose the smaller (L 31.5") for 6-seat rectangular tables; the larger (L 39.3") for 8-seat. Model B (Round Vertical) — for round or square dining tables, primary bedrooms with king beds, square foyers with double-height ceilings, and rotunda-style staircases. Four sizes: Small (23.6"⌀) for bedrooms and 4-seat tables; Medium (27.6"⌀) for primary bedrooms and 6-seat round tables; Large (31.5"⌀) for statement dining and standard foyers; XL (39.4"⌀) for double-height foyers and 8-seat round tables. When in doubt, Model B Medium (27.6"⌀ × H 78.7") is the residential proportional default.
Do I have enough ceiling height? ○
Ceiling requirements by configuration: Model A L 31.5" × H 78" — 9-ft ceilings work. Model A L 39.3" × H 98.4" — 10-11 ft. Model B Small (23.6" × H 59.1") — 8-ft standard-height residential; the residential entry size that works in standard homes. Model B Medium (27.6" × H 78.7") — 9-10 ft. Model B Large (31.5" × H 98.4") — 11-12 ft. Model B XL (39.4" × H 118.1") — 14-15 ft; the double-height-foyer configuration. For dining rooms specifically, add 30-36 inches from tabletop to the fixture's lowest point when calculating clearance. For foyers and staircases, allow 7-8 ft floor clearance under the lowest fixture point.
Style L or Style M — which flagship? ○
Both are large-scale Ginkgo Series chandeliers with hand-crafted porcelain leaves and Rose Gold framing; the two products serve different scale ranges. Style L (this fixture) — 2 model shapes across 6 configurations, 23.6"-39.4" diameter range (Model B) plus 31.5"-39.3" linear (Model A), correct for residential-plus applications: primary bedrooms, dining rooms with 6-10 seats, double-height foyers, staircases in mid-size to large homes. Style M — 5 model shapes across 15 configurations, 31.5"-137.8" scale range, correct for architectural-scale applications: banquet-scale dining, atrium spaces, hotel lobbies, restaurant flagship rooms, and any hospitality-scale installation. Rule of thumb: if your ceiling is 12 ft or less, Style L is the correct specification; if your ceiling is 12-16 ft or requires architectural presence, Style M is the flagship choice. Both share the same craft and finish system.
Can I change the frame colour from Rose Gold? ○
Yes, at no extra charge. The default is Rose Gold — a warm pink-gold register that reads more contemporary than traditional yellow-gold finishes and pairs particularly well with matte-white porcelain. Alternative finishes: Copper Gold (warmer classical), Nickel (cool neutral), Chrome (silver-modern), White (monochrome), Gold (traditional yellow), Black (architectural contemporary). Specify at checkout by leaving a note, or write to support@stuberlighting.com within 24 hours of order placement.
Can I dim it? ○
Yes — strongly recommended for all Style L configurations. The included LEDs are non-dimmable warm-white. Replace with dimmable G9 or E12 LEDs (matching the socket type of your specific configuration) and install a triac-compatible wall dimmer. At 40-60% brightness, the porcelain leaves catch light at their most atmospheric register — the fixture reads as botanical composition rather than as bright task illumination. Particularly important for the larger Model B configurations where 30-60 bulbs at full brightness produce more output than most residential rooms want.
Is installation difficult? ○
Moderate. The ceramic petals ship packed separately from the frame for safe transit — they attach individually at installation. Model A (both sizes) and Model B Small/Medium — 60-90 minutes total, one licensed electrician sufficient. Model B Large — 90-120 minutes, ceiling-anchor verification recommended. Model B XL — 2-3 hours, 1-2 licensed installers recommended, junction-box weight verification required for the 39.4"⌀ × 118.1"H configuration. We strongly recommend a licensed electrician for the full install across all sizes — particularly if you're replacing an existing fixture that requires wall-switch or ceiling-box modifications.
How do I clean it? ○
The matte-white porcelain is straightforward to maintain. Dust with a soft dry microfibre cloth or feather duster every 3-6 months for residential applications; monthly for high-use dining rooms. For accumulated residue, a lightly-damp cloth (water only) restores the finish; never use ammonia, glass cleaner, or abrasive sponges. The Rose Gold frame wipes with a dry microfibre cloth — avoid brass polish or metal cleaner (which strip the protective sealing). For the Model B XL configuration, plan for 30-60 minutes of thorough cleaning per session because of leaf count.
Trade pricing and multi-fixture orders? ○
Yes — the Style L is one of our most-specified fixtures for interior-designer projects and small-to-mid-scale hospitality applications. Trade pricing available; matched-batch porcelain coordination for multi-room installations; extended wire lengths for atrium and staircase applications at no extra charge. Please note that production lead times run 4-6 weeks; multi-fixture orders may extend proportionally depending on kiln capacity. Write to support@stuberlighting.com with your project brief — quantity, configuration mix, finish specification, and installation timeline.
"The Style L is the Ginkgo Series at the specific scale that most upper-end homes actually ask for. Six configurations because dining rooms, primary bedrooms, foyers, and staircases have their own proportions — but none of them need to be hospitality-scale. Two model shapes because rectangular tables want linear compositions and round rooms want circular ones. Rose Gold framing because it's what pairs with matte porcelain when yellow gold reads too traditional. The fifth in an ongoing Ginkgo Series."
