GINKGO SERIES · N°13 · STYLE D

The residential round drum.
Classical or extended arrangement.

The Style D is the Ginkgo Series' shallow flat round drum built for standard-height residential ceilings. Model A offers three sizes in a classical radial arrangement (Dia 23.6-39.4"); Model B extends the arrangement across five sizes (Dia 23.6-59"), including two oversized configurations that scale up to hospitality-scale Dia 59". All eight configurations share the same handcrafted porcelain ginkgo leaves, the same Rose Gold framing, and the same 11.8" compressed drum height. Made for standard 8-9-ft residential ceilings. G9 warm-white bulbs included across every configuration.

Standard residential

The Ginkgo Series' residential round drum.

Most Ginkgo Chandelier Styles serve specific specifications — Style M for commercial-scale linear, Style J for mega-double-tier statement, Style G for dual drum-height choice, Style F for six-Model complete family. The Style D is different. It focuses on one form (shallow flat round drum) with two arrangement Models, and covers the residential range with the option to scale up to hospitality applications.

The shallow 11.8" drum profile is intentional — Style D is designed to sit close to the ceiling in rooms with standard 8-9-ft residential clearance, where taller drum heights or vertical drops would crowd the room's active headspace. Porcelain ginkgo leaves cluster on a circular Rose Gold frame in a symmetrical botanical composition that reads as considered ceiling ornament rather than as pendant descent. The fixture is compressed enough to work in powder rooms and standard-height entryway foyers, and scaled enough (via Model B's oversized configurations) to work in grand foyers and boutique-hospitality reception.

Two Models offer arrangement choice: Model A (classical radial arrangement) in three residential sizes — Dia 23.6", 31.5", 39.4"; Model B (extended arrangement) in five sizes covering the same residential range plus two oversized configurations up to Dia 59" for grand foyers and hospitality-scale applications. Both Models share the same 11.8" drum profile — the fixture stays close to the ceiling regardless of Model or diameter choice.

Model A

Classical.

Radial arrangement · 3 sizes

The Ginkgo Series' classical radial arrangement in three residential sizes. Porcelain leaves cluster in a traditional radial pattern from the central axis outward across the Rose Gold circular frame. Correct for standard residential dining rooms, foyers, powder rooms, and interiors where the classical Ginkgo botanical vocabulary is the specification. All three Model A sizes fit standard 8-9-ft residential ceilings.

Model B

Extended.

Extended arrangement · 5 sizes to Ø 59"

The extended arrangement Model. Covers the same three residential diameters as Model A plus two oversized configurations — Dia 49.2" and the flagship Dia 59" (the largest Style D configuration). The extended arrangement scales the ginkgo leaf composition proportionally across the larger frames, holding radial density even at 59" diameter. Correct for grand foyers, boutique hospitality reception, hospitality-scale dining, and interiors specifying architectural botanical statement.

Choosing

A three-step decision.

1

Residential size (23.6-39.4") or oversized (49.2-59")?

If your room is standard residential (dining room, foyer, powder room, kitchen, primary bedroom) — the three residential diameters (23.6-39.4") are available in both Model A and Model B. If your room is oversized (grand foyer, double-height entryway, hospitality reception, boutique-scale dining) — the two oversized diameters (49.2" and 59") are exclusive to Model B.

2

In residential sizes, Model A or Model B arrangement?

Both Models use the same G9 bulb count in shared diameters (6 at 23.6", 8 at 31.5", 10 at 39.4") — the choice is arrangement. Model A (classical radial) — the traditional Ginkgo Series radial pattern from central axis outward; reads as timeless botanical composition. Model B (extended arrangement) — the alternative leaf-composition pattern that scales proportionally into oversized configurations; reads as contemporary variation on the classical theme. Model B also gives you the option to specify matching oversized units later if scaling the interior. When in doubt at residential sizes, Model A is the safer classical choice.

3

Match diameter to the surface below.

For round dining tables: fixture diameter 12-18" less than the table diameter. Ø 23.6" — 4-seat round tables, small dining nooks, powder rooms. Ø 31.5" — 6-seat round tables, entryway foyers, mid-size living rooms. Ø 39.4" — 8-seat round tables, statement foyers. Ø 49.2" (Model B) — grand round dining tables, hospitality reception, boutique hotel foyers. Ø 59" (Model B flagship) — hospitality-scale statement, double-height entryway rotundas, boutique restaurant central positions.

Applications

Six rooms for a round drum.

Application 01

Round dining rooms.

Ø 23.6-39.4" (Model A or B) above round dining tables in standard residential dining rooms with 8-9-ft ceilings. Fixture diameter 12-18" less than table diameter. The shallow 11.8" drum stays close to the ceiling, correct for evening-service ambience without descending into the room's active volume.

Application 02

Entryway foyers.

Ø 23.6-31.5" (Model A or B) in standard entryway foyers; Ø 39.4" for statement foyer positions. The compressed drum profile keeps the fixture near the entry ceiling without descending into head-space territory — correct for foyers with 8-9-ft residential clearance.

Application 03

Living rooms & bedrooms.

Ø 31.5-39.4" centred above living room seating clusters or as a primary-bedroom ceiling anchor. Both Models work; Model B's extended arrangement reads slightly more contemporary in bedrooms with cooler color palettes.

Application 04

Powder rooms & hallway.

Ø 23.6" (smallest Model A configuration) in powder rooms with 8-9-ft ceilings, hallway accent applications, small dining nooks. The smallest configuration is correct where a larger fixture would be architecturally dominant — reads as considered decorative accent.

Application 05 · Model B

Grand foyer & double-height entryways.

Model B Ø 49.2" or flagship Ø 59" in grand foyers with 10-14-ft ceilings and double-height entryway rotundas. The extended arrangement scales the ginkgo leaf composition to hold architectural authority in the larger volume — reads as botanical statement anchoring the room's welcome register.

Application 06 · commercial

Boutique hospitality reception.

Model B Ø 49.2-59" in boutique-hotel reception areas, small-lobby central positions, and hospitality flagship rooms. The oversized configurations hold visual authority appropriate for commercial welcome registers.

Craft

Patient. Handcrafted. Rose Gold framed.

Every ceramic ginkgo leaf across every Style D configuration and every Model is individually hand-shaped from porcelain clay in our atelier. The circular frame construction produces a radial leaf arrangement — leaves cluster outward from the drum's central axis in a symmetrical botanical pattern that reads as intentional composition rather than as random assembly. Even the smallest Ø 23.6" configuration uses over 50 individually formed leaves; the Model B flagship Ø 59" exceeds 220 leaves. Each leaf receives multiple hand-brushed applications of matte-white glaze for the fixture's flawless consistent finish.

The circular metal frame is polished Rose Gold as standard — a warm pink-gold register that pairs particularly well with matte-white porcelain and reads more contemporary than traditional yellow-gold finishes. Alternative finishes (Copper Gold, Nickel, Chrome, White, Gold, Black) are made-to-order at no additional charge across all eight configurations. Standard wire length is 59"; extended lengths available on request. Production lead times run 4-6 weeks; the Model B flagship Ø 59" may extend proportionally depending on ceramic kiln capacity.

Questions

Model A (classical) or Model B (extended arrangement)?

At the three shared diameters (Ø 23.6", 31.5", 39.4"), Model A and Model B use the same G9 bulb count — the choice is arrangement pattern. Model A (classical radial arrangement) — the traditional Ginkgo Series leaf pattern, radiating from a central axis outward across the Rose Gold frame in a symmetrical botanical composition; reads as timeless residential specification. Model B (extended arrangement) — the alternative leaf-composition pattern that reads slightly more contemporary and scales proportionally into the two oversized configurations (Ø 49.2" and Ø 59") exclusive to Model B. If you're specifying residential only and want the classical Ginkgo look, choose Model A. If you want the option to add matching oversized units later (for coordinated whole-home installations or hospitality projects), choose Model B. If your specification is Ø 49.2" or Ø 59", Model B is the only option.

Which diameter for my dining table or room?

For round dining tables: fixture diameter should be 12-18" less than the table's diameter. Ø 23.6" — 4-seat round tables (36-42" tables), small dining nooks, powder rooms, hallway accents. Ø 31.5" — 6-seat round tables (48-54" tables), entryway foyers, mid-size living rooms. Ø 39.4" — 8-seat round tables (60" tables), statement foyers, grand living rooms. Ø 49.2" (Model B) — grand round dining tables (72"+ tables), hospitality reception, boutique hotel foyers. Ø 59" (Model B flagship) — hospitality-scale statement, double-height entryway rotundas, boutique restaurant central positions. For rectangular dining tables and kitchen islands, our Style K, F, or E (linear compositions) are more appropriate.

Style D vs Style G vs Style E — which round Ginkgo?

All three offer round drum compositions in the Ginkgo Series, each with different specifications. Style D (this fixture) — 2 Models × 8 configurations; single 11.8" flat drum profile; arrangement choice between classical (Model A) and extended (Model B); Model B extends up to hospitality-scale Ø 59". Style G — 2 Models × 7 configurations with dual height choice; Model A shallow flat 11.8" H, Model B deeper drum 15.7" H; max Ø 47.2". Style E — 5 Models × 12 configurations with dense-vs-sparse leaf density choice (Model A dense radial vs Model B sparse airy), plus three linear Models. Choose Style D when your specification is residential round drum with the option to scale up to hospitality-scale Ø 59"; Style G when you want dual drum-height choice at max Ø 47.2"; Style E when you want dense-vs-sparse density design decision + linear Model coverage.

Do I have enough ceiling clearance?

The Style D is designed for standard residential ceiling heights. Minimum requirements: Ø 23.6-39.4" (Models A & B): 8-ft ceilings work for entryway rotundas and living rooms; 9-ft comfortable for dining rooms with tabletop clearance. Ø 49.2" (Model B oversized): 10-ft ceilings recommended — the larger diameter needs more vertical volume to read as intended. Ø 59" (Model B flagship): 12-ft-plus recommended, ideal for grand foyers, double-height entryways, and boutique-hotel reception. For dining tables, add 30-36 inches from tabletop to the fixture's lowest point when calculating clearance. Extended wire lengths available at no extra charge for higher ceilings.

Can I change the frame colour from Rose Gold?

Yes, at no extra charge. The default is Rose Gold — a warm pink-gold register that pairs particularly well with matte-white porcelain and reads more contemporary than traditional yellow-gold finishes. Alternative finishes: Copper Gold (warmer classical register), Nickel (cool neutral), Chrome (silver-modern), White (monochrome), Gold (traditional yellow), Black (architectural contemporary). Specify at checkout by leaving a note, or write to support@stuberlighting.com within 24 hours of order placement.

Can I dim it?

Yes — strongly recommended across all configurations, particularly Model B's higher-bulb-count larger variants (Ø 49.2" uses 12 G9, Ø 59" flagship uses 16 G9) where full-brightness output can exceed what most rooms want. The included G9 LEDs are non-dimmable warm-white. Replace with dimmable G9 LEDs (widely available at any lighting retailer) and install a triac-compatible wall dimmer. At 40-60% brightness, the porcelain leaves catch light at their most atmospheric register — the fixture reads as botanical composition rather than as bright task illumination. For dining rooms, dimmable control is essentially required to enable evening-service and event-mode lighting scenes.

How difficult is installation?

Moderate. The ceramic leaves ship packed separately from the frame — they attach individually with small screws at installation, and time scales with leaf count. Ø 23.6" (6 G9): 60-90 minutes, 1 licensed electrician sufficient. Ø 31.5" (8 G9): 90 min to 2 hours. Ø 39.4" (10 G9): 2-3 hours, 1 electrician + 1 assistant recommended. Ø 49.2" (12 G9): 2-3 hours, 2-person installation strongly recommended for lifting the larger drum. Ø 59" flagship (16 G9): 3-4 hours, 2-person licensed installation team required — the largest configuration takes patience but delivers architectural presence. Detailed installation instructions ship with every order. Customer reviews consistently note that installation takes time but the finished result is worth the effort.

How do I clean it?

The matte-white porcelain is straightforward to maintain. Dust with a soft dry microfibre cloth or feather duster; every 3-6 months for residential dining rooms and living rooms, quarterly for entryway installations where dust settles faster. For accumulated residue, a lightly-damp cloth (water only) restores the finish; never use ammonia, glass cleaner, or abrasive sponges. The Rose Gold frame wipes with a dry microfibre cloth — avoid brass polish or metal cleaner (which strip the protective sealing). Because the Style D's shallow 11.8" drum sits close to the ceiling, cleaning access is easier than for taller pendant configurations. Model B Ø 49.2-59" larger configurations plan for 30-60 minutes of thorough cleaning per session because of higher leaf count.

Trade orders and hospitality projects?

Yes — the Style D is one of our most-specified fixtures for residential multi-room projects because of the standard-height residential profile. Also specified for boutique-hospitality reception where Model B's oversized Ø 49.2" and Ø 59" flagship configurations deliver architectural presence. Trade programs available; matched-batch porcelain coordination for multi-room installations (dining + foyer + living across the same property, or coordinated across multiple hospitality zones); custom frame finishes; extended wire lengths at no extra charge. Production lead times run 4-6 weeks; multi-fixture orders and the Model B Ø 59" flagship may extend proportionally depending on ceramic kiln capacity.
