GINKGO SERIES · N°16 · STYLE A
A handcrafted
porcelain light sculpture.
The Style A is designed and built as a light sculpture rather than as a fixture — a full three-dimensional rectangular volume of handcrafted porcelain ginkgo leaves that reads as considered ceiling artwork above the surface below. Four sizes from residential (L 39.3") to flagship commercial (L 70.9" × W 27.6"), all sharing a uniform 21.7" height that gives the fixture consistent sculptural proportion across the range. Two Model choices per size: Model A and Model B offer alternative leaf-arrangement compositions on identical dimensions — same L, W, H, and G9 bulb count in both Models; different botanical composition register. Eight total configurations. All configurations use G9 warm-white bulbs; Rose Gold framing default.

The Ginkgo Series' sculpture-register piece.
Most Ginkgo Chandelier Styles serve specific specifications — Style K is flat linear, Style G is round drum entry, Style D covers residential round, Style F is the six-Model complete family. The Style A occupies a different position in the range. It is designed and marketed by us as a handcrafted porcelain light sculpture — the botanical composition, the rectangular volume proportions, and the uniform 21.7" H across all four sizes are calibrated so the fixture reads as considered ceiling artwork rather than as functional lighting object. A room that specifies Style A is a room where the fixture is meant to hold sculptural authority as the interior's centrepiece.
The uniform H 21.7" across all sizes is deliberate. Most Ginkgo Chandeliers grow H proportionally with L — bigger fixtures get taller. The Style A holds height constant, so all four sizes read with the same vertical proportion regardless of length. A Style A above a small 6-seat dining table and a Style A above a 12-seat statement dining table share visual identity in every respect except horizontal footprint. This makes the Style A particularly suited to multi-room specifications where different rooms need different sizes but visually coordinated sculpture-register presence throughout.
Two Models offer arrangement choice at identical dimensions. Model A presents the classical Ginkgo Series leaf-arrangement — leaves cluster in the traditional radial pattern that reads as timeless botanical composition. Model B presents an alternative leaf-arrangement — leaves distributed in a variation on the classical pattern that reads slightly more contemporary. Same L, W, H (39.3-70.9" × 17.7-27.6" × uniform 21.7"), same G9 bulb count (8/10/12/15) across both Models — different botanical composition register.

Uniform 21.7" H across all four sizes is unique in the Ginkgo Chandelier range. What changes across the range is horizontal footprint (L 39.3-70.9", W 17.7-27.6") and bulb count (8-15 G9). Vertical proportion stays consistent — the sculpture reads with identical presence regardless of size.
Two arrangements
Same dimensions. Different botanical register.
Model A
Classical.
Traditional radial arrangement
The Ginkgo Series' classical botanical arrangement rendered at sculpture-register scale. Porcelain ginkgo leaves cluster in the traditional radial pattern that has defined the Ginkgo Series across every Style. Reads as timeless sculptural composition — appropriate for formal dining rooms, executive spaces, and interiors specifying a classical botanical register within contemporary architecture.

Available in all 4 sizes
Model B
Alternative.
Variation on the classical pattern
The alternative leaf-arrangement — same rectangular volume and Rose Gold frame as Model A, but with leaves distributed in a variation on the classical pattern that reads slightly more contemporary. Reads as sculptural composition with a distinct botanical register — appropriate for modern dining rooms where the classical Ginkgo look is not the specification.

Available in all 4 sizes
Both Models share identical L, W, H, and G9 bulb count. The choice is composition register — classical (Model A) versus contemporary variation (Model B). At sculpture-register scale, the arrangement register is a genuine design decision that shapes how the fixture reads in the room.
Petal adjustability
Turn the leaves to tune the light.
The Style A's ceramic leaves attach to Rose Gold branches with individual small screws that let the installer rotate each leaf 360° at installation to catch light at different angles. The Rose Gold branch structure itself is fixed — not adjustable like our Style B — but the petal-angle rotation gives you meaningful control over how the fixture reads in your room. Angle leaves flat downward for direct task illumination above dining tables; angle them at 30-45° to catch light softly for atmospheric warm scatter across the ceiling; alternate angles across the fixture for dynamic composition that responds to your interior.
Customer reviews confirm: "You do have some ability to change the look of this by manipulating the angle of the petals." Installers typically spend 30-60 minutes at the end of the installation adjusting petal angles until the sculptural composition reads as intended for the specific room — a process that customer reviews describe as tedious in the moment but rewarding as the final composition emerges.
Applications
Six rooms for a light sculpture.
Application 01
Statement dining rooms.
L 47.2-59" above rectangular dining tables in dining rooms where the fixture is meant to hold sculptural authority as the interior's centrepiece. Both Model A and Model B work; Model A for classical formal register, Model B for contemporary variation. 9-10-ft ceilings recommended.
Application 02
Grand foyers & entryways.
L 59-70.9" in grand entryway foyers where the fixture anchors the room's welcome register with full sculptural presence. The uniform 21.7" H creates architectural authority appropriate for double-height entryway rotundas and hospitality reception spaces.
Application 03
Executive & conference rooms.
L 59-70.9" above long conference tables in executive boardrooms and corporate meeting spaces. The sculpture-register composition reads as considered architectural artwork appropriate for formal professional environments.
Application 04
Primary bedrooms & suites.
L 39.3-47.2" in primary bedroom suites and larger residential bedrooms. Angle the petals downward at installation for softer bedroom-appropriate light quality; the sculpture-register composition reads as elevated ceiling centrepiece.
Application 05 · commercial
Boutique hospitality flagship.
L 70.9" flagship configuration in boutique-hotel reception atriums and hospitality flagship dining rooms. The rectangular volumetric composition holds visual authority in commercial welcome-register spaces.
Application 06 · commercial
Fine dining restaurants.
L 47.2-70.9" above rectangular tables in fine-dining private-dining rooms and boutique restaurant flagship spaces. Matched-batch coordination available for multi-fixture hospitality installations.
Choosing
A three-step decision.
1
Is this the correct sculpture register for your interior?
The Style A is designed as a light sculpture — the fixture is meant to hold visual authority as the interior's centrepiece. If your specification is a functional fixture that recedes into the interior (Style G, K, or Style F Model D would be more appropriate), the Style A is not the correct choice. If your specification is a fixture that reads as considered artwork above the surface below, the Style A is designed for exactly that register.
2
Match size to your surface.
For rectangular dining tables: fixture length 60-75% of table length. L 39.3": 6-seat dining (8 ft table), small dining nooks. L 47.2": 8-seat dining (10 ft), statement kitchen islands. L 59": 10-seat dining (12 ft), statement foyers, executive conference. L 70.9" flagship: 12+ seat dining (14 ft+), grand foyer atriums, commercial hospitality flagship. Remember: uniform 21.7" H means vertical proportion stays consistent across sizes — larger fixtures don't grow taller.
3
Model A (classical) or Model B (alternative arrangement)?
Both Models have identical dimensions and G9 bulb counts at each size — the choice is leaf-arrangement composition register. Model A (classical) for formal dining, traditional interiors, and rooms where the timeless Ginkgo look is the specification. Model B (alternative) for modern dining, contemporary interiors, and rooms where a more current variation on the botanical composition is preferred. When in doubt: Model A is the safer classical choice; Model B reads more contemporary.
Craft
Sculpture-level porcelain craft.
Every ceramic ginkgo leaf across every Style A configuration is individually hand-shaped from porcelain clay in our atelier. Because the Style A is engineered as a light sculpture, the leaf count is substantial — from approximately 90 leaves (L 39.3" entry) to over 260 leaves (L 70.9" flagship). Each leaf receives multiple hand-brushed applications of matte-white glaze that produces the fixture's flawless consistent finish; automated glazing produces uneven results at sculpture-register scale, so every application is hand-done.
The metal frame is polished Rose Gold as standard — a warm pink-gold register that pairs particularly well with matte-white porcelain and reads more contemporary than traditional yellow-gold finishes. Alternative finishes (Copper Gold, Nickel, Chrome, White, Gold, Black) are made-to-order at no additional charge across all eight configurations. Production lead times run 4-6 weeks; the flagship L 70.9" configuration may extend proportionally depending on ceramic kiln capacity. For sculpture-register hospitality installations requiring multi-fixture coordination, we recommend contacting us ahead of specification to plan production timeline and matched-batch coordination.

Questions
Why is Style A described as a "light sculpture" rather than a chandelier? ✺
The Style A is engineered and marketed as a handcrafted porcelain light sculpture because it's designed to hold sculptural authority as the interior's centrepiece rather than to function as background illumination. Three design decisions push it into sculpture-register territory: (1) Full 3D rectangular volume — L, W, and H are all substantial (W 17.7-27.6", H uniform 21.7"), so the fixture reads as three-dimensional composition from every viewing angle rather than as flat linear ribbon. (2) Uniform H 21.7" across all sizes — vertical proportion stays constant regardless of L, creating consistent sculptural presence at any size. (3) Substantial leaf count — from 90 leaves (entry) to 260+ (flagship), each individually hand-shaped and hand-glazed. If your specification calls for a functional chandelier that recedes into the interior, Style A is not the correct choice — Style D (round drum entry), Style K (flat linear), or Style G (round drum standard) are more appropriate. If your specification calls for the interior's centrepiece to hold sculptural authority, Style A is engineered for exactly that register.
What's the actual difference between Model A and Model B? ✺
Both Models share identical L, W, H, and G9 bulb count at each size — the choice is leaf-arrangement composition register on the same rectangular volume. Model A (classical arrangement) — porcelain leaves cluster in the traditional Ginkgo Series radial pattern that has defined the series across every Style. Reads as timeless botanical composition; correct for formal dining, executive spaces, and interiors specifying a classical register. Model B (alternative arrangement) — porcelain leaves distributed in a variation on the classical pattern, slightly more contemporary in register. Correct for modern dining, contemporary interiors, and rooms where the classical Ginkgo look is not the target register. At sculpture-register scale, the arrangement register is a genuine design decision that shapes how the fixture reads in the room. When in doubt: Model A is the safer classical choice.
Style A vs Style C vs Style H — which rectangular volume Ginkgo? ✺
All three offer rectangular volume compositions in the Ginkgo Series, each with different specifications. Style H — single Model × 3 configurations, W 25.6" fixed, H 13.8" fixed; the compact rectangular volume for formal dining sculptural presence. Style C Model A — 4 configurations with H 13.8-17.7" (H grows with L), plus Model B compact flat and Model C vertical drop family; mid-century-meets-Art-Deco fusion register. Style A (this fixture) — 2 Models × 4 sizes with unique uniform H 21.7" across all sizes and W scaling to 27.6" flagship; light-sculpture register with the tallest fixture H in any Ginkgo rectangular volume Style. Choose Style A when you want sculpture-register presence with vertical proportion consistency across sizes; Style C when you want mid-century + Art Deco fusion or need Model C's vertical drop; Style H when you want compact rectangular volume with fixed W.
What size for my dining table or room? ✺
For rectangular dining tables: fixture length should be 60-75% of table length. 6-seat table (8 ft): L 39.3". 8-seat table (10 ft): L 47.2". 10-seat table (12 ft): L 59". 12+ seat statement (14 ft+): L 70.9" flagship. For grand foyer applications (central position): match L to the foyer's horizontal footprint — L 47.2" for standard foyers, L 59" for statement foyers, L 70.9" for grand entryway atriums and double-height rotundas. For executive conference rooms: match L to conference table length using the 60-75% rule. Remember: uniform 21.7" H means vertical proportion stays consistent across all sizes — larger fixtures don't grow taller, only wider and longer.
Do I have enough ceiling clearance? ✺
The Style A's uniform 21.7" H sits taller than most Ginkgo Chandelier Styles — sculpture-register presence requires vertical volume. Minimum ceiling requirements: L 39.3-47.2" (smaller sizes): 9-ft residential ceilings required; 10-ft comfortable for dining rooms. L 59" (statement): 9-10 ft ceilings; 10-ft-plus comfortable for the fixture's vertical proportion to read as intended. L 70.9" (flagship): 10-ft-plus recommended minimum; 12-ft-plus ideal for grand foyer applications and hospitality-scale rooms. Add wire length (59" standard, adjustable) to the 21.7" fixture height when calculating total drop from ceiling. For dining tables, add 30-36 inches from tabletop to the fixture's lowest point when calculating final clearance. Extended wire lengths available at no extra charge for higher ceilings.
Can I change the frame colour from Rose Gold? ✺
Yes, at no extra charge across all Models and sizes. The default is Rose Gold — a warm pink-gold register that pairs particularly well with matte-white porcelain and reads more contemporary than traditional yellow-gold finishes. Alternative finishes: Copper Gold (warmer classical register), Nickel (cool neutral), Chrome (silver-modern), White (monochrome), Gold (traditional yellow), Black (architectural contemporary). For sculpture-register hospitality installations, matched-batch finish coordination across multiple fixtures is standard. Specify at checkout by leaving a note, or write to support@stuberlighting.com within 24 hours of order placement.
Can I dim it? Which bulb colour temperature works best? ✺
Yes — dimming is strongly recommended, particularly for larger configurations (L 59" uses 12 G9, L 70.9" flagship uses 15 G9) where full-brightness output can exceed what most rooms want. The included G9 LEDs are non-dimmable warm-white. Replace with dimmable G9 LEDs (widely available at any lighting retailer) and install a triac-compatible wall dimmer. Colour temperature guidance from customer reviews: stick with 2700K warm-white — one experienced customer specifically notes that 3000K "does not accentuate the gold very well" and reads too white for the Rose Gold frame's warm register. At 40-60% brightness with 2700K LEDs, the porcelain leaves catch light at their most atmospheric register — the sculpture reads as botanical composition rather than as bright task illumination. For dining rooms and hospitality, dimmable control at 2700K is essentially required.
How difficult is installation? ✺
Moderate to substantial depending on size. The ceramic leaves ship packed separately from the frame — they attach individually with small screws at installation. L 39.3" (8 G9 · ~90 leaves): 2-3 hours, 1-2 person installation. Customer review notes: "It took just over an hour" with the aid of the installation video. L 47.2" (10 G9 · ~130 leaves): 3-4 hours, 2-person installation recommended. L 59" (12 G9 · ~180 leaves): 3-5 hours, 2-person licensed installation team. L 70.9" flagship (15 G9 · 260+ leaves): 5-7 hours, 2-person licensed installation team required — the largest configuration takes patience but delivers architectural sculpture-register presence. Watch the product installation video before starting — customer reviews strongly recommend this. Key tips from customer reviews: attach the frame and bulbs first, then attach leaves individually one at a time; plan to spend the final 30-60 minutes adjusting petal angles for the sculptural composition; take breaks during the process.
Trade programs and hospitality flagship installations? ✺
Yes — the Style A is our most-specified fixture line for boutique-hospitality flagship installations where the interior calls for sculpture-register centrepiece presence. The L 70.9" flagship configuration is particularly specified for boutique-hotel reception atriums, hospitality flagship dining rooms, and executive corporate headquarters. Model A/Model B choice lets designers coordinate register (classical vs contemporary) across multi-room hospitality specifications while maintaining shared dimensional identity through uniform 21.7" H. Trade programs available; matched-batch porcelain coordination for multi-fixture installations; custom frame finishes; extended wire lengths at no extra charge; project-management coordination for flagship installations. Production lead times run 4-6 weeks; flagship L 70.9" and multi-fixture orders may extend proportionally. For hospitality installations, we recommend contacting us during specification planning to coordinate production timeline. Write to support@stuberlighting.com with your project brief — application register, Model mix (A/B), quantity, size specification, finish, and installation timeline.
"The Style A is engineered and marketed as a handcrafted porcelain light sculpture — full rectangular volume, uniform 21.7" H across all sizes, and Model A/B arrangement choice on identical dimensions. Four sizes from residential entry (L 39.3") to hospitality flagship (L 70.9" × W 27.6"). Where other Ginkgo Chandeliers function as fixtures, the Style A is engineered as ceiling artwork. The final Style in the Ginkgo Chandelier range, and its sculpture-register centrepiece."
