The wall-mounted, plug-in member of our Cora family.
The Cora Wall Sconce is the wall-mounted, plug-in version of our Cora Series — same milky-white opaque glass flower shade, same warm wood and metal palette, scaled down to a compact wall fixture. The shade attaches to a small wooden wall mount with a 59-inch power cord routed to a plug at the end. Install in minutes with two screws; no electrician, no hardwiring, no permanent commitment.
The same hand-blown opaque glass shade you'd find on our pendants — the bulb disappears entirely behind the milky surface, and the whole shade glows soft and uniform when lit. Sized at 5.9" diameter and just 6.5" tall, the Cora Wall is small enough for bedside, hallway, or above a sofa without dominating the wall. Choose this when you want the Cora aesthetic in a renter-friendly format.
Plug-in installation — no electrician needed
59-inch cord with plug and inline switch. Two screws into a wall stud or anchor; plug into the nearest outlet; switch on. Renter-friendly, no permanent installation, removes cleanly when you move.
Hand-blown milky-white opaque glass
Same glass shade as our chandelier and pendant — hand-blown, finished opaque white. The bulb is invisible from any angle; the entire shade glows uniformly. No glare, no bright spots, soft candlelit ambiance.
Real wood wall mount
The wall plate is solid wood, not laminate — the same natural-material character that gives the rest of the Cora series its warmth. The wood provides visual anchor against the wall; the glass shade reads as a flower mounted on a wood disc.
Compact 5.9" diameter
Small enough for bedsides, hallway walls, and behind small chairs. Big enough to read as intentional design rather than utility. Sized to install in pairs flanking a bed or sofa without crowding the wall.
The piece you can take with you
Hardwired wall sconces commit the renter to a specific apartment, the homeowner to a specific room, and both to an electrician's schedule and bill. The Cora Wall avoids all of that. Two screws in the wall (a five-minute job with a stud finder or drywall anchors), one cord plugged into the nearest outlet, switch on. When you move, the sconce removes cleanly — fill two small holes and go. This is the wall fixture for the apartment you don't own, the room you might redecorate, the wall you're not sure about yet. It earns its place by being undoable.
Part of the Cora Series
The Cora Wall Sconce is the wall-mounted, plug-in member of our complete Cora collection — three formats, one design language:
Cora Chandelier — 3 or 5-light statement piece for formal dining and grand spaces.
Cora Mini Pendant — single pendant in 3 sizes for kitchen islands, foyers, dining tables.
Cora Wall Sconce (this fixture) — wall-mounted plug-in version for bedside, hallway, sofa-wall, renter installations.
Where the Cora Wall mounts best
Bedside, above the nightstand (pair on either side of the bed) — frees the nightstand surface from a table lamp; soft milky glow is ideal for evening reading.
Hallway or stairway walls (single or pairs) — most hallways need light but lack outlets in the right places; the plug-in cord routes to a baseboard outlet.
Behind a sofa or armchair (single) — soft accent lighting that doesn't require furniture moving for a hardwired install.
Above bathroom vanity (single, away from water sources) — adds warm accent light to bright vanity zones; install at least 24" from sinks per electrical safety guidelines.
Rental apartment, dorm, or temporary installation — removable with no permanent damage; perfect for renters who want serious-looking lighting without serious commitments.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the cord routed — visible or hidden? +
The 59-inch cord exits from the bottom of the wall mount and is fully visible by default — this is the trade-off of plug-in installation versus hardwired. Most customers route the cord down along the wall to the nearest outlet using small adhesive cord clips (available at any hardware store, removes without damage). For a cleaner look, some customers run the cord behind furniture (a headboard, a sofa, a console) so only the small section between the sconce and the furniture is visible. The cord matches the sconce's neutral tones, so it disappears against most walls.
Should I buy one or a pair? +
For bedside, almost always buy a pair — one above each side of the bed. Single bedside sconces look unfinished; pairs read intentional. For hallways, single sconces work fine, spaced every 8-10 feet along long hallways. For above sofa, single centered or pair flanking — both work. For bathroom vanity, pair flanking a vanity mirror is the designer-recommended approach (cross-lighting eliminates shadows on the face). For renter installations where commitment is low, start with one and add another if it works.
How is this different from the chandelier and pendant? +
All three share the same milky-white glass shade, the same warm metal-and-wood character, and the same flower-shape silhouette — but they install differently and serve different rooms. The Cora Chandelier is a multi-light fixture for dining rooms and grand spaces. The Cora Mini Pendant is a single-pendant fixture for kitchen islands, foyers, and dining tables. The Cora Wall Sconce is a plug-in wall fixture for bedsides, hallways, and renter installations. Same design language, three room formats.
For the warmest milky glow, use 2700K LED bulbs. Edison filament bulbs also work, though their warmth is partially diffused through the opaque glass.
Mount at standard sconce heights — 60-66 inches above the floor in general installations, 28-30 inches above the bed frame for bedside, 36 inches above the sofa back for behind-sofa.
Safety tested for indoor use in dry locations. Meets technical requirements for North American residential lighting installations.
