A reading lamp has one real job: put the light on the page and keep it out of your eyes. The Calla does it with an off-centre arched arm that reaches out over a sofa or a chair, so the shade sits above and slightly ahead of you — light where you're reading, not glaring back from across the room.
It's the floor-standing member of the Calla family: the same sculptural calla-lily shade and weighty marble base as the wall sconce, now on a slim arched column. The head rotates a full 180 degrees to aim the beam, the marble keeps it planted, and the whole thing reads — in owners' words — classy and expensive for something this quietly minimal.
The Head
Turns a full 180°.
The aluminium shade rotates up, down, left and right, so one lamp does several jobs: aim it down for a book, out for a task, or up to bounce a soft wash off the ceiling. Made from thickened aluminium, it holds its position and won't sag over time.
Owners also note a practical bonus — angled right, it keeps glare off the TV.

Aluminium and marble.
Shade & Arm
Thickened aluminium, shaped into the organic calla-lily form on an arched arm. It's built not to bend, and the matte off-white interior spreads a soft, even light rather than a harsh spot. Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Base
A polished marble base gives the lamp its weight and stability — owners report there's no fear of it tipping and no wobble. That heft is deliberate: it's what lets a slim arched arm reach out over a sofa and stay planted.
Light
A standard E14 bulb (Max 40W) is included, so it lights on arrival, and it's compatible with dimmable bulbs and wall dimmers. For remote brightness and colour control, add a remote-control dimmable bulb. A warm bulb keeps the glow cosy. Don't exceed Max 40W.

It arrives flat-packed; the base, column, arm and shade join with the included hardware — owners report having it together in under 20 minutes without extra tools. Once built, plug into a standard outlet and switch on from the inline switch.
Our step-by-step, in plain terms
A few buyers found generic instructions frustrating, so ours are simple: (1) seat the column into the marble base and tighten; (2) attach the arched arm; (3) fit the shade to the head and hand-tighten the rotation joint — snug, not forced; (4) fit the bulb and plug in. Cord & Placement
The cord is a fixed 78.7 inches (2 m) — plan the lamp within that reach of an outlet, since it doesn't extend. Runs on AC 110–240V; choose your plug (US/UK/AU/EU) at checkout. Set it fully on the floor so the weighted base stays stable.

How adjustable is it?+
The head rotates a full 180 degrees — up, down, left and right — so you can aim the light onto a book, out as a task light, or up for a soft ceiling wash. The arched arm already positions the shade out over your seat. One tip: the rotation joint can feel firm at first; that's by design so it holds its angle.
Is it stable, or will it tip?+
The marble base is heavy on purpose, and owners consistently report no wobble and no fear of tipping, even with the arm reaching out to one side. Set it fully on the floor (not half on a rug edge) and it stands solid.
Is it hard to assemble?+
No — most owners have it together in under 20 minutes with no extra tools: column into base, arm on, shade to the head, bulb in, plug in. A few found generic instructions unclear, so we've written a plain step-by-step (in the Setup section above) and can email a short video — just ask.
Does it come with a bulb? Can I dim it?+
A standard E14 bulb (Max 40W) is included, and it's compatible with dimmable bulbs and wall dimmers. For remote brightness and colour-temperature control, add a remote-control dimmable bulb — it ships in place of the standard bulb. Replacement E14 bulbs are easy to find.
Is the light bright enough to read by?+
Yes — it's designed as a reading light. The matte interior spreads an even, warm glow, and the arched arm places it right over your book. Owners describe it as bright enough to be the only light in the room, and note it keeps glare off a TV when angled away. For maximum brightness, fit a higher-output warm bulb up to Max 40W.
