The Metalwork Does More Than Hold the Light
Cairo uses an openwork iron shade to break the light into pattern, creating a more atmospheric effect than a conventional solid metal pendant. Four diameters let the same lantern form work from compact corners to larger dining spaces.

Pattern Becomes Part of the Light
Light passes through the openings in the iron shade, allowing the metal pattern to appear across nearby ceilings and walls. The effect becomes more visible as the surrounding room light gets lower.
Best understood as atmospheric light: the open shade creates visual texture rather than the even diffusion of fabric or frosted glass.

The shape remains consistent across all four sizes. What changes is the visual weight of the iron shade and how strongly it occupies the room.

Compare the selected diameter with the table or open floor area below. The larger Cairo sizes carry significant visual width even though the shade remains relatively shallow.

Above a dining table, use approximately 30–34" between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade as a practical starting point. Longer suspension is available on request.
Light Character
More Atmosphere Than Diffusion
The open iron shade does not conceal the light source like fabric or opal glass. Expect a more directional, patterned visual effect around the fixture rather than a completely uniform glow.
If Cairo is used above a dining table or in a living room, it works especially well as one layer within a broader lighting plan.
Where Each Scale Makes Sense
Indoor dry locations only
Bedroom 19.6" keeps the lantern effect visible without bringing the largest scale into the room.
Dining Room 23.6" or 31.4" gives the patterned iron shade enough width to anchor the table below.
Entryway 15.7" or 19.6" works where the fixture should add character without dominating circulation space.
High Ceiling The 31.4" version offers the strongest visual scale; request a longer cable if the standard 59" drop is insufficient.

Want soft even light?
Cairo is intentionally open and pattern-casting. It does not diffuse light like a closed fabric or frosted-glass shade.

Standard cable length is 59" / 150cm. Longer suspension can be requested.
