The authentic FUN is a Mid-Century fixture line designed by Verner Panton in 1964, originally for Louis Poulsen and now produced under license by &Tradition. The authentic article carries full design provenance and museum-grade construction.

The Brisa is independently manufactured by Stuberlighting as a table-lamp tribute to the cluster silhouette. It uses real Capiz shell. It is not a licensed reproduction. If you want the authentic article, we recommend purchasing directly from &Tradition or an authorized dealer.

It's very subtle — a soft shimmer, not a loud chime.

The sound only happens when the shells actually move, which requires air movement — an open window with a breeze, a ceiling fan, or someone walking close by. In still air, the lamp is completely silent.

When the shells do move, the sound is a faint, soft brushing — much quieter than a traditional metal or wooden wind chime. Most owners describe it as calming background ambiance rather than anything distracting. It's not loud enough to interrupt sleep or conversation.

If you prefer no sound at all (for a very light sleeper, for instance), simply place the lamp away from direct drafts and air vents. The shells only sound when air moves them.

Sizing rule for nightstands: Measure your nightstand surface. The 11.8" needs roughly a 14-16" wide clear surface; the 15.7" needs 18-20". For most standard nightstands, the 11.8" is the better fit.

They coordinate beautifully when used together in the same home — a Sirena pendant over the bedroom seating area, Brisa lamps on the nightstands, for example.

Gold — warm gold-electroplated base, matches the gold frames of our other Capiz family fixtures exactly for coordinated installations. The lamp is dimmable-compatible. To enable dimming: replace the included bulb with a dimmable E26 LED bulb (widely available for $8-15) and use an inline cord dimmer or a dimmable wall switch.

Why dimming matters for the Brisa: at full brightness, the single bulb provides reading-level light. For bedside use, dimmed to 30-40%, the shells transition from illuminating to glowing — soft enough for late-evening ambiance, warm enough to read by, and gentle enough not to disturb a sleeping partner. The dimmed glow is when the pearl-iridescent shell quality is most beautiful.
