— Of Shore & Shelter —

Pearl on iron, layered like a song.

The Aria takes the timeless pear silhouette of a Bohemian chandelier and clothes it in tiers of natural Capiz — layer upon hand-hung layer, silver-iron bones holding the soft-pearl flesh of the shell. It is the kind of light that fills a room with romance.

◆ ◆ ◆

A shape with a long memory.

The tiered pear chandelier has lived in homes for the better part of two centuries — from gas-lit parlours of the late 1800s through bohemian Victorian sitting rooms, into the seaside cottages of the American mid-century, and onto the Pinterest mood boards of every Cottagecore renaissance since. Few silhouettes have aged so well.

A material that catches the sea.

What the Aria adds is Capiz — the translucent windowpane oyster shell artisans across the Pacific have prized for the way it holds and softens light. Hand-hung over silver-finished iron in dozens of overlapping layers, each shell catches the bulb behind it and turns it into a pearled, diffused glow. The result is the romance of an antique with the warmth of natural shell.

two scales · one silhouette

S

17.7"⌀ × 25.6"H

For a 4–6-seat dining table, a romantic bedroom, an entry that wants to feel personal rather than grand.

L

25.6"⌀ × 37.4"H

For long farmhouse tables, double-height foyers, and the kind of room that calls for one true centrepiece.

crafted, not assembled

Hand-hung, shell by shell

Each Capiz shell is suspended individually from small metal rings — never glued, never pressed into sheets. Stand close and you can see the small irregularities where one shell ends and the next begins; stand back and they read as a single soft-iridescent skin. This is the difference between handmade lighting and the mass-produced kind: the small variations are not flaws but signature.

A silver-iron frame, deliberately visible

Unlike the FUN-family fixtures where the metal armature recedes behind the shells, the Aria's silver-finished iron pear frame is part of the design language — visible at every tier, structuring the silhouette like rib bones holding fabric. The slightly cool tone of Silver & White pairs beautifully with Coastal palettes, French Country interiors, and the soft-white walls of a Cottagecore home.

Bulbs included — warm white, always

Many tiered shell chandeliers in this price tier ship without bulbs, leaving you to source and match them. The Aria does not — every fixture ships with its full set of warm-white E26 LEDs, chosen deliberately for the temperature (2700K) that makes Capiz turn honey-amber rather than cold blue-white. Dimmable-compatible if you swap for dimmable LEDs and a triac dimmer at the wall.

Adjustable chain, professional install

A 19.7-inch adjustable hanging chain is included; longer custom chain lengths are available on request for double-height foyers and staircase voids. Given the layered shell construction and the iron frame, the Aria is a substantial fixture — we strongly recommend a licensed electrician for installation, with the ceiling junction box rated for chandelier loads and anchored to the ceiling framing.

where it belongs

"The Aria is a chandelier for rooms that don't take themselves too seriously — that have a vase of wildflowers, a stack of books, an open window."

Over a long farmhouse dining table of pale oak and rattan chairs, the small Aria casts a warm, romantic glow that's exactly the right temperature for evening dinners with friends. In a Cottagecore living room with linen sofas, dried flowers, and natural fibers, the soft pearl shells echo every other organic material in the space. Above the wrought-iron railing of a French Country staircase, the large Aria reads as a romantic centrepiece — silver iron meeting silver iron.

In a Coastal cottage with white shiplap walls, it brings the sea indoors without resorting to obvious motifs — no anchors, no rope, no driftwood, just the actual material of the shore softening the light. And in a romantic primary bedroom, the small Aria over the foot of the bed adds the kind of overhead atmosphere most bedrooms forget to have.

questions, considered

Is it Boho enough? Or will it look too "beachy"?

The Aria sits at the considered end of Boho — the iron frame keeps it from reading as kitschy beach decor, while the natural shell keeps it from reading as cold or modern. If your interior is full-Boho (rattan, dried palms, vintage rugs), it will feel completely at home. If your interior is Coastal-but-restrained or Cottagecore-leaning-French, it will still work — the silver iron grounds the romance and prevents the shells from feeling decorative-for-decoration's-sake.

Which size for my space?

For dining tables, the chandelier diameter should be roughly half to two-thirds the table width. A 4–6-seat table (up to about 50 inches wide) calls for the S (17.7"). A long farmhouse table seating 8+ calls for the L (25.6"). For non-dining applications: the S works in a bedroom over the foot of the bed, a romantic small entryway, or a reading corner. The L is for double-height foyers, French Country staircase voids, or the visual focal point of a large living room.

Why only Silver — no Gold or Black option?

The Aria is deliberately our only Capiz fixture in Silver. Our other Capiz family fixtures lean warm — Gold frames matched to terracotta, walnut, and warm-traditional palettes. The Aria is built for the other half of the Boho-Coastal spectrum: cooler, more romantic-feminine, more French-Country, more shabby-chic-with-restraint. Silver is the right finish for those rooms. If you want warm Gold in a tiered chandelier silhouette, our Capiz family offers other options at different scales and shapes.

Will every Aria look exactly like the photos?

No — and we say that with confidence. Natural Capiz shells differ subtly from piece to piece in thickness, translucency, and pattern; the photographs represent one Aria at one moment in one light. Yours will be subtly different from the photos and from every other Aria ever made. For most owners, that's the point: a fixture with the personality of a vintage piece rather than the uniformity of a mass-produced one. If you prefer perfect-pattern uniformity, a printed shade is the right material choice instead.

How do I clean it?

Light feather-dusting every 2–3 months keeps the Aria looking fresh — work gently from the top tier down. Never use sprays, polishes, or wet cloths directly on the shells; they're natural material and will discolour or warp with moisture. For deeper cleaning of accumulated dust, a soft, slightly-damp cloth wiped over individual shells works — wipe one shell at a time, allow to fully air-dry before lighting. The silver-iron frame can be wiped with a soft dry cloth.

How long is the chain — can I make it longer?

The standard adjustable chain is 19.7 inches. For double-height foyers, staircase voids, or any ceiling above standard residential height, custom longer chains are available — email service@stuberlighting.com with your ceiling height before ordering and we'll coordinate the right chain length with your shipment, generally at no extra charge for reasonable extensions.

"Each Aria is composed by hand — washed, graded, and hung shell by shell. No two will ever quite match. That's why we love it."
