Akari VB-13T · Washi Paper Table Lamp

An Uneven Curve That Looks Different from Every Angle

VB-13T uses Washi paper over a shaped internal frame to create an intentionally asymmetric silhouette. When switched off it reads as a sculptural object; when illuminated, the paper softens the bulb into a broad warm glow.

Overall Size Ø15" × H21.6" Ø38 × H55cm · approx. 6.6lb / 3kg
Surface Width Allow About 15" Better suited to substantial nightstands, side tables and consoles than very small accent tables.
Light Character Soft Ambient Glow Washi diffuses the bulb rather than creating a focused reading or task beam.
Setup Plug-In E26/E27 bulb included with inline ON/OFF control.

How the Shape Is Made

Washi Paper Shaped Around a Flexible Internal Frame

The lamp's flowing outline does not come from a rigid molded shade. The paper form is supported by a lightweight internal framework, allowing the surface to keep its soft folds and irregular curve.

Slight differences in fold, tension and geometry are normal characteristics of the handmade construction.

Mulberry Washi Bamboo Ribbing Metal Support
Footprint 15" Approx. 38cm across
Before You Place It

Give the Organic Shape Enough Table Space

The 15-inch body has noticeably more presence than a compact bedside lamp. Avoid surfaces where the paper shade would sit too close to the edge.

Nightstand Best on a wider bedside surface with room around the shade.
Side Table Works well where the lamp can act as both light and sculpture.
Console / Sideboard A natural fit for the 21.6-inch height and wider organic silhouette.

Actual Scale

Ø38 × H55cm. Check both the width and height against your intended tabletop before ordering.

Three Things to Know

Need reading light?

VB-13T is primarily an ambient lamp. Washi spreads light softly rather than producing a concentrated task beam.

Small nightstand?

The body is approximately 15" wide. Check your available tabletop space before ordering.

Expect perfect symmetry?

No. The flowing handmade form can show subtle differences in fold, paper texture and frame geometry.

Shipping & Returns

Free Standard Shipping (4–6 weeks) — all US & Canada orders. Expedited (2–4 weeks) available; see Shipping Policy .

If you are not satisfied, you may request a return and refund within 30 days, provided the items remain brand new and unused.

Once shipped, original shipping fees are non-refundable. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs unless there is a quality issue.

To start a return, email support@stuberlighting.com . For details, see our Returns Policy .

Each piece is handmade, so slight variations in texture and dimensions are normal, and washi paper ambers gently over time. Screen colors are approximate; hand-measured sizes may vary 1–2cm.

Pretty but delicate

The lamp looks clean and modern and the soft light is exactly what I wanted. I just have to be careful when moving it because the shade feels delicate.

Looks really nice

I like the simple shape and the light is comfortable in the evening. The cord could be a bit longer for my room, but it still works well.

E
Emily Carter
Soft light for my nightstand

The lamp gives a calm warm glow and looks nice next to my bed. Setup was easy, though the shade is a little lighter than I expected.
