The Akari UF3-Q is a sculptural floor lamp built around an oversized vertical Washi paper shade — 22 inches across at its widest — supported by a slim black metal tripod. At 57.1 inches tall, the UF3-Q sits in the middle of our floor lamp range: substantially larger than the standard 49" 10A, more accessible than the 72.8" UF4-33N. The proportions are calibrated for the room most American homes actually have — a living room with 9-10 foot ceilings, a primary bedroom with floor space to spare, a corner of an open-plan kitchen that needs ambient warmth.

Premium high-fiber mulberry Washi paper, hand-stretched onto the frame by skilled artisans, ensures even warm diffusion without the patchy yellow glare common in cheaper alternatives.
