The Akari UF3-L6 is the slimmest tall floor lamp in our family — a narrow 13.8-inch diameter Washi paper column rising 57 inches from a slender black metal tripod. Where our other tall floor lamps are 19-22 inches wide and visually substantial, the UF3-L6 stays gracefully slim — ideal for corners, narrow spaces between furniture, and rooms that want vertical scale without horizontal bulk. The crinkled organic paper texture is the lamp's other defining feature: hand-folded mulberry Washi with a tactile crinkled surface that catches light differently from smooth or pleated alternatives, producing a soft uneven glow with subtle textural shadow play.
This is the floor lamp for the room with the perfect corner but limited floor space — between a sofa and a wall, between two armchairs, in the tight bedroom corner next to the bed, or alongside a console table where wider lamps would crowd the composition. The crinkled texture adds Wabi-Sabi character without sacrificing vertical scale.

At 13.8 inches across, the UF3-L6 is dramatically narrower than our other tall Washi floor lamps (which range from 19-22 inches). The slim profile leaves room around the lamp for furniture, walls, or walking space — making it the right choice for corners, narrow wall recesses, or anywhere wider floor lamps would crowd the space. The narrow form also reads more vertical and column-like; the height-to-diameter ratio of over 4:1 is the most architectural in our family.

The crinkled paper surface is the lamp's distinct visual character — hand-folded mulberry Washi with a tactile crinkled finish rather than a smooth or pleated shade. The texture catches and scatters light in an irregular soft pattern, producing subtle shadow play rather than uniform diffusion. The eco-friendly thick Washi paper filters light through its natural fibers, mimicking the soft radiance of a traditional paper lantern.
Slender black metal tripod base
A delicate slim black metal tripod calibrated to match the column's narrow proportions — no oversized base, no heavy plinth. All three are mid-scale Akari floor lamps in the 55-57 inch height range, but they differ in silhouette and width. The UF3-Q (22" × 57.1") is the widest — smooth oversized shade, clean uniform diffusion. The UF3-DL (19.7" × 55.1") has the organic cocoon silhouette — soft asymmetric curves. How do I care for the crinkled Washi paper shade? +
Dust gently with a soft feather duster or microfiber cloth — the crinkled texture catches more dust than smooth shades, so monthly dusting is recommended. Brush in one consistent direction rather than scrubbing back and forth to preserve the texture. Do not wet-clean, steam, spray with cleaners, or use damp cloths; water permanently stains and warps Washi paper, especially noticeable on textured surfaces. Place away from humid environments and direct heat sources. The crinkled texture is part of the lamp's signature character — slight variations between individual lamps are intentional, and the surface should retain its tactile irregularity rather than smoothing over time.
For the warmest paper-glow effect, use 2700K-3000K LED or filament bulbs with high color rendering (CRI/Ra > 90). Cooler bulbs flatten the paper's natural amber undertone and reduce the textural shadow play.
