The 13" diameter shade is generously proportioned — more voluminous than compact table lamps but still graceful at table-top scale. The fuller form produces a wider warm light pool, casting golden radiance across a larger surface area than slimmer designs.

The 3A requires 5-10 days handcrafted preparation before shipping — each piece is built to order by skilled artisans rather than pulled from a warehouse. After preparation, free standard shipping takes 4-6 weeks to US/Canada addresses; expedited shipping (2-4 weeks) is available for additional fee. Total delivery timeline: approximately 5-8 weeks for standard, 3-6 weeks for expedited. We email tracking information once the lamp ships from our workshop.

How does the 3A compare to other Akari tripod table lamps? +

Several Akari tripod table lamps in similar ranges. The 1A (10.2" × 16.9") is compact egg-shape — smaller, more accessible. The 1N (10.2" × 19.3") is the tall egg-shape variant of 1A. The 3A (this fixture, 13" × 22.8") is more voluminous and substantially taller — the most generously-proportioned tripod table lamp in our family. How do I care for the Washi paper shade? +

Dust gently with a soft feather duster or microfiber cloth — that's it. Do not wet-clean, steam, spray with cleaners, or use damp cloths; water permanently stains and warps Washi paper. Place the lamp away from humid environments (avoid bathroom counters, kitchen surfaces near stovetops) and away from direct heat sources (radiators, fireplaces). With basic monthly dusting, the paper maintains its appearance for many years; slight ambering over time is natural and part of the material's character. The metal tripod base only needs occasional wiping with a dry cloth.


For the warmest paper-glow effect, use 2700K-3000K LED or filament bulbs with high color rendering (CRI/Ra > 90). Cooler bulbs flatten the paper's natural amber undertone.

Each piece is handmade by artisans — slight variations between individual lamps in paper texture, frame geometry, and exact dimensions are part of the authentic hand-craft character.
